HoYoverse is running another closed beta for Honkai: Nexus Anima, its creature-collecting adventure strategy game in the Honkai series. The round is called the Evolution Test, and it opens up new characters, Anima, regions, and gameplay systems on PC, iOS, and Android. Spots are limited, so you have to register and get picked.
Quick answer: Register on the official Honkai: Nexus Anima website, sign in with your HoYoverse account, click “Join the Test,” and complete the questionnaire before July 3, 2026 (UTC+8). The test itself begins July 9, 2026 (UTC+8).

Evolution Test release date and recruitment window
The Evolution Test goes live on July 9, 2026 (UTC+8) across PC, iOS, and Android. No end date has been announced. It is a free, limited closed beta with a full data wipe afterward, so any progress you make during the test does not carry over.
Recruitment is already open. The sign-up window started on June 22, 2026 and closes on July 3, 2026 (UTC+8). Once that window ends, the developers select testers from everyone who pre-registered and submitted the questionnaire, so registering early does not guarantee a slot.
| Milestone | Date (UTC+8) |
|---|---|
| Recruitment opens | June 22, 2026 |
| Recruitment closes | July 3, 2026 |

You only enter the selection pool if the questionnaire is finished. Submitting just the pre-registration without the survey will not qualify you.
How to confirm you were selected
After recruitment closes, chosen testers are contacted directly. Notifications go out through the official website, email, and SMS, so keep an eye on the contact email you entered during registration. The selection message also includes the installation instructions and the test package for your platform.
Note: Test access is tied to a single account. Sharing, selling, or transferring test clients or accounts is prohibited and can get access revoked.

What the Evolution Test includes
You play a plane-hopping traveler who escapes captivity and sets out from Iia, a quiet town in the Reality Plane. The build widens the map and the story, with the town’s New Quarter, commercial districts, and landmarks all opening up for exploration. Locations such as Nexus Hall and the True Nexus Building introduce key figures from rival factions, and new characters including Nanafey, Bai Mei, and Olympia join the journey.
The headline feature this round is Anima evolution. Each Anima can change form as your bond grows, and you can save the moment you first met with a custom photo and give the companion its own name. On rare days you might run into a Chromatic Anima, an uncommon variant worth keeping an eye out for during the test.
HoYoverse has said more details about the Evolution Test will follow in later announcements. For now, the priority is simple: finish the questionnaire on the official site before July 3 (UTC+8) so you are in the pool when selections are made for the July 9 start.
