The Weird Route, called the Snowgrave Route by most players and labeled Side B in the game’s own data, carries over into Chapter 5 if you finished it in Chapter 4. There is no separate setup at the start of the chapter. It begins on its own, and everything plays out in the Light World at the Beach Path rather than in a Dark World.
Quick answer: Keep choosing “Proceed” at every prompt to stay on the route, but the path ends at the lake. After the scene with Noelle, the game returns you to chapter selection because the next part of the route is tied to content that has not been released yet.

What Chapter 5 needs from your earlier save
Chapter 5 does not let you start the Weird Route fresh. It reads your completion data and only continues if the route was active and locked in during the previous chapters. If any earlier step was missed, the chapter runs the normal story instead.
| Chapter | What had to happen |
|---|---|
| Chapter 2 | Freeze every enemy in Cyber City with Noelle’s IceShock, equip the Thorn Ring, and cast SnowGrave on Berdly. |
| Chapter 4 | Force Kris to put the Thorn Ring back on Noelle and answer the vent dialogue to lock the route. |
| Chapter 5 | Have Kris and Noelle drown or nearly drown at the lake during the Beach Path sequence. |
How to keep the Weird Route active in Chapter 5
The route holds itself together through a single repeated choice. Whenever a prompt appears with “Proceed” as an option, you have to pick it.
Note: There is no Shadow Crystal reward here. That item comes from clearing a Dark World, and Chapter 5’s route sequence stays entirely in the Light World.

Why the route ends at the lake and sends you to chapter selection
After the conversation with Noelle plays out, a screen appears, and then the game drops you back to chapter selection. This is not a bug, and you are not missing a step. The route simply has nowhere further to go right now.
What lies beyond the lake belongs to a later part of the story that has not shipped yet. The current release lets the route reach that threshold and stop. Until a future chapter adds the continuation, this is the end of the playable Snowgrave content.
So the route is reaching its built-in limit rather than failing. If you completed the lake sequence and returned to the menu, you have already seen everything Chapter 5 offers for this path.

How to stop the route if you change your mind
The only way to back out in Chapter 5 is to stop selecting “Proceed” when the prompt offers it. Choosing anything else instead of “Proceed” abandons the path and returns you to the normal story for the chapter.
If you want to preserve the option to abort, keep a separate save before the Beach Path scene. Once you commit to the prompts and finish the lake sequence, the route has run as far as it can in this version.
