The Storm Blade myth lets you visit Jin Sakai’s old refuge and recover three keepsakes: the Storm Blade sword kit, the Clan Sakai Stag Helmet, and the Ghost Mask. The tale is available in Oshima Coast and plays out as a focused platforming, exploration, and duel sequence with minor story spoilers.
Prerequisites and spoiler note
Expect narrative callbacks and a late-game location. Oshima Coast opens after progressing the story, and the quest marker appears in the region’s far southwest. The tale includes a short chase, a duel, and a graveside interaction.
Start the Storm Blade myth (Oshima Coast, southwest)
Climb the stone steps behind the storyteller to the first gate, turn right, and cut through the bamboo thickets to reveal a fox shrine. Bow to it to summon a shadow fox guide.
Follow the fox to the Glade and the Lost Shinobi’s Den
Trail the fox through a linear platforming route marked by Sakai lamps until you reach the Glade of Remembrance. Open the chest beneath the crimson tree to read a haiku.
Continue to the clearing with a waterfall and a dilapidated house labeled the Lost Shinobi’s Den. Enter and search the interior for relics from Jin’s life.
Climb onto the house roof, shimmy along the cliff, and enter the cave behind the waterfall. Move deeper until you reach the altar with the Storm Blade.
Interact with the sword to trigger an ambush. A Nine Tails raider steals the blade while others stay to fight—clear the remaining enemies in the cavern.
Exit the cave into the pool below, then follow the downstream route. Expect a collapsing bridge and a simple crossing; the fox will reappear to keep you on track.
Enter the field of white flowers and explore the house dubbed the Home of the First Shinobi. Examine the workshop items to learn more about Jin’s later years.
Open the Gear menu, select Weapons, then Katana, and choose the Storm Blade as your sword kit. This changes the katana’s appearance without altering stats.
Use Dance of Wrath in combat as desired; the technique remains active after the tale concludes and does not require the Storm Blade kit to be equipped.
You’ll also spot Jin’s timeworn armor during this tale; it’s a static relic and can’t be worn. Enjoy the nods to Tsushima while you put the new technique to work.
