The confirmed Demon Slayer specs, the breathing styles behind them, and which one is already playable.

A Universal Time is bringing a full slate of Demon Slayer characters into its roster, adding specs built around the anime’s breathing styles and demon powers. The lineup spans both Hashira and Upper Moon demons, and one of the abilities has already gone live while the rest are still in development.

Quick answer: The confirmed Demon Slayer specs are Destructive Death (Akaza), Water Breathing (Giyuu/Tanjiro), Thunder Breathing (Zenitsu), Cryokineses (Douma), and Moon Breathing (Kokushibo). Insect Breathing (Shinobu) is already in the game through Update 6.1 early access. No release date is currently confirmed for the rest.

Confirmed Demon Slayer specs in the update

The Demon Slayer update packages several specs based on characters from the series. Each one maps to a recognizable breathing form or demon power from the source material, and the roster mixes slayers and demons.

Note: Water Breathing is tied to both Giyuu and Tanjiro, which is why the two are grouped together for that spec.

Insect Breathing is already playable

Insect Breathing, Shinobu’s spec, is the one Demon Slayer ability you can access right now. It arrived as part of AUT Update 6.1 in early access, alongside Hie and Rokushiki. Because it launched in early access, expect balance passes and adjustments as the developers iterate on it.

Preview material for the wider update has also shown Shinobu holding Zenitsu’s sword and a leak of the “Eleventh Form: Dead Calm” move connected to Giyuu, which points to how those slayer specs are taking shape ahead of release.

Release timing for the remaining abilities

Outside of Insect Breathing, none of the Demon Slayer specs have a confirmed release date. The update is listed as upcoming with no scheduled window, so Destructive Death, Water Breathing, Thunder Breathing, Cryokineses, and Moon Breathing remain in development for now. Treat any specific date circulating elsewhere as unconfirmed until the game announces one.

The Demon Slayer content sits within a larger queue that also includes Bleach characters, additional One Piece devil fruits, and reworks for stands like Gold Experience and Shadow DIO. The next update overall is also currently unknown, which reinforces that these specs are not locked to a near-term patch.

How to confirm a spec has gone live

A Demon Slayer ability is playable once it appears in the in-game update document and its obtainment method is active in the current version. The clearest signal is the update log entry and the spec showing up in the game’s ability list, the same way Insect Breathing was flagged when 6.1 rolled out. Until an ability appears there with a working obtainment path, it is still upcoming.

For now, Shinobu’s Insect Breathing is the entry point to Demon Slayer content in AUT, and the rest of the lineup, headlined by Akaza, Kokushibo, Douma, Zenitsu, Giyuu, and Tanjiro, is confirmed but waiting on a release the developers have not yet dated.
