The Pet Mutation Machine adds a permanent boost to a single pet in Build a Ring Farm, and the result you roll can meaningfully change how much that pet earns or how its ability performs. Before you spend anything on it, you need one pet at the right level and a clear read on the odds.
Quick answer: Bring a pet to Level 50, walk to the machine in the center of the map, press E, and roll. The mutation you get is random, so reroll until you land Royal, Astral, or Godly.
Where the Pet Mutation Machine is and how to unlock it
The machine sits in the center of the map. Its name is printed directly on the structure, so it is hard to miss once you are near the middle of your farm. Interact with it by pressing E.
The one hard requirement is pet level. Your pet must be at least Level 50 before the machine will let you roll. If the option is greyed out or nothing happens when you interact, the equipped pet is below that threshold. Level it up first, then return.
How to roll a pet mutation

There are six possible mutations. Each has a fixed effect and its own chance of appearing on a roll.

Charged is by far the most common result at 46%, while Godly sits at an extreme 0.10%, making it one of the rarest rolls in the game. Royal and Astral are the strong mid-tier options, so keep either one if you land it before deciding whether to keep chasing Godly.
Machine upgrades and which one to buy first
The machine can be upgraded across three separate categories, each with 5 levels available.

Reroll Discount is the most expensive category per level, but Mutation Luck is the better long-term investment. Improving your odds of hitting Royal, Astral, or Godly is worth more than trimming reroll costs. If you only push one category, make it Mutation Luck.
Because each roll is random and the top results are so rare, plan on rerolling many times. A leveled Mutation Luck stat plus a Reroll Discount to soften repeated attempts is the practical setup for anyone seriously hunting a Godly pet.
