Divine General (Adaptation) is the Secret-rarity, Holy-element unit added to Anime Vanguards with Update 14.0 Part 1, the Extermination Event Pt. 1 that went live on July 5, 2026. Its design draws from Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga in Jujutsu Kaisen, and it plays as a heavy utility carry that grows stronger the longer a fight lasts.

Quick answer: Beat the Divine General’s Realm Rift for a 2% chance to receive the unit on each clear. To skip the RNG, buy a Vowstone from the Rift Shop for 500 Rift Shards and use it before entering the portal for a guaranteed drop.

Divine General (Adaptation) rarity, element, and base stats

This is a limited-time unit tied to the Extermination Event, so it comes only from its own Rift while that content is active. It fills a Holy-element slot and is rated among the strongest utility options in the game because of the effects it stacks over time.

How to unlock Divine General (Adaptation)

The unit has one source: the Divine General’s Realm Rift. Rifts appear in the lobby on a rotating cycle, and you can also force one to spawn with a Temporal Rift. The base drop is low, so a Vowstone is the reliable path if you have the Rift Shards to spend.

Enter the Divine General’s Realm Rift when it appears in the lobby, or summon it manually using a Temporal Rift. This starts the timed encounter.
Clear all 20 enemy waves within the 10-minute limit. The boss adapts as the fight progresses, so rotate your damage and effects rather than leaning on one strategy the whole run.
Collect your reward on completion. Each successful clear carries a flat 2% chance to drop Divine General (Adaptation), so expect to repeat the Rift multiple times if you rely on chance alone.
To remove the RNG, visit the Rift Shop and buy a Vowstone for 500 Rift Shards, then activate it before you enter the Rift portal. With a Vowstone applied, clearing the stage guarantees the unit as your reward.

You’ll know it worked when Divine General (Adaptation) lands in your unit inventory after the clear screen. If the Rift finishes and nothing drops, the 2% roll simply failed. Run it again or apply a Vowstone next time.

Passive abilities

The kit is built around adaptation. The more enemy mechanics, mutations, modifiers, and status effects the unit becomes immune to, the more damage it deals, which is why it scales well in longer, harder encounters.

Being of Divinity

  • After hitting the same enemy 4 times, it adapts to that enemy’s mechanics, mutations, and modifiers and ignores them on all future attacks.
  • If it is hit with a Status Effect or Status Debuff, it becomes permanently immune to that type after 5 seconds.
  • It gains 20% damage for every Mechanic, Mutation, Modifier, Status Effect, or Status Debuff it is immune to.

Relentless Divine Shikigami

  • Every attack applies Nullify to the target.
  • If an enemy is Bleeding, it deals extra damage to that enemy whenever it attacks.
  • If the leading enemy goes 10 seconds without taking damage, this unit teleports to it and buffs its own damage by 50% for 60 seconds.

8 Handled General

  • Each time it Adapts, it gains 20% Size and 20% AoE Size and hits every enemy in range.
  • Against enemies with mechanics it has already adapted to, it deals 30% more damage per adaptation.

Upgrade costs and DPS by level

Total investment to max the unit is 182,200 ¥, with a single placement allowed on the field. Attack speed shortens from level 3 onward, and the big damage jumps arrive once you reach the Meteor Toss and Gut Check upgrades.

Immortal Divine General Memoria

Divine General (Adaptation) has an exclusive Memoria called Immortal Divine General, sold in the Rift Shop. It carries specialty passives that only work on this unit, which pushes its damage and range higher the more immunities it builds.

PassiveEffect
The Wheel TurnsDeals 10% more damage per Modifier or Mutator on the enemy.
Affinity (specialty)Buffs range by 5% per Mechanic, Mutation, Modifier, Status Effect, or Status Debuff it is immune to.
Immortal Being (specialty)Deals 5% more damage per attack on the same enemy.

Stats for the Memoria are quoted at Level 60 with D stats, giving a base value of about 9.47K. Because both the unit and this Memoria reward staying locked onto one target, they pair naturally for drawn-out boss phases where adaptations and immunities keep compounding.

Since the unit lives inside the Extermination Event Pt. 1 content, farming it now while the Rift is in rotation is the safest way to add it to your roster. Bank enough Rift Shards for a Vowstone if you want the guaranteed route, and target the exclusive Memoria in the Rift Shop on the same trips.
