Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Get the Acorn Snail in Honeyglow Woods

The Acorn Snail arrives with the Honeyglow Woods update, and befriending it follows the game's familiar critter routine.

The Acorn Snail arrives with the Honeyglow Woods update, and befriending it follows the game’s familiar critter routine.

The Acorn Snail is a critter tied to Honeyglow Woods, the Disney Dreamlight Valley update that went live on July 8, 2026. Like every other critter in the game, you don’t buy it or craft it. You find it in the world, calm it down, and feed it the food it likes until it decides to trust you.

Quick answer: Travel to the Honeyglow Woods area, walk slowly toward the Acorn Snail so it doesn’t flee, and hand it its preferred food. Once the friendship prompt appears, it is added to your critter collection.

What you need before finding the Acorn Snail

The Acorn Snail lives inside the Honeyglow Woods content, so you first need access to that update. Honeyglow Woods launched on July 8, 2026, and you can grab the associated Adventure Pack from the in-game store or your platform’s store listing.

You also need food on hand before you approach. Critters only warm up to you when you feed them the item they prefer, so it helps to carry a small stack of foraged or cooked ingredients in your inventory when you head into the woods.

How to befriend the Acorn Snail

Head into the Honeyglow Woods area and look for the Acorn Snail on the ground. Critters spawn in set spots and rotate, so give the area a full sweep if it isn’t visible right away.

Walk toward it slowly. Running or sprinting startles critters and makes them scatter, so keep a steady pace until you are close enough to interact.
Open your inventory, select the food the Acorn Snail prefers, and feed it. If it accepts the food, a small heart appears above it and the friendship registers.
Return and feed it again on later days if it isn’t fully befriended yet. Feeding is limited per day, so repeat visits are the normal way to finish the process.

How to know it worked

You’ll see a clear confirmation the moment the Acorn Snail accepts your food, and it is then logged in your critter collection. After it’s befriended, you can set it as a following companion so it trails you around the Valley.

Note: If nothing happens when you interact, the most common causes are moving too quickly and scaring it off, or offering food it doesn’t want. Slow your approach and try a different food item to fix it.

Because Honeyglow Woods only opened on July 8, 2026, critter spawn spots and preferred foods can shift as the update settles in, so keep checking the area across a few in-game days if the Acorn Snail isn’t where you expect. The routine stays the same either way: find it, approach gently, and feed it until it joins your collection.
