Mister Walpole, I Presume? is the tutorial-heavy memory in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced where Edward Kenway, still posing as Duncan Walpole, visits the Governor of the Bahamas to claim his reward. The mission hands you your first pistols and hidden blades, walks you through a shooting drill and assassination practice, and ends with a night on a tavern roof.
Quick answer: Enter the Governor’s mansion, clear Rogers’ pistol targets (five shots twice, the second round within 27 seconds), demonstrate the four assassination techniques on the dummies, follow your hosts to the roundtable, then climb to the tavern roof to sleep and end the memory.
Optional objectives to track
Two optional objectives run through this memory, and both are easy to miss if you rush the cutscenes. Handle them in the moment rather than trying to replay the mission later.
Optional objective
When it happens
Complete Rogers’ shooting challenge
Second pistol round, hit all five targets before the 27-second timer expires
Pickpocket all three Templars
During the roundtable cutscene at the map table, before it ends
Walk straight ahead through the compound to reach Woodes Rogers, who is practicing his aim alongside the French arms dealer Julien du Casse. A cutscene plays as you get close, and Rogers hands Edward a pair of pistols before inviting you to shoot.

Five targets sit in front of you. Follow the on-screen prompts to equip the pistol and fire. This first pass has no timer, so use it to learn the aim and reload controls.

Once the first set falls, Rogers issues the timed challenge. Hit the same five targets within 27 seconds to clear the optional objective. Pick a spot where all five are visible, use manual aim on the stationary marks, and reload as needed so you are not caught empty mid-run.
Note: If you miss the 27-second window, the mission still continues, but you forfeit that optional objective for the memory.
After the shooting, a cutscene plays where du Casse gives Edward two souvenirs, your hidden blades. Follow your hosts through the garden to the next open area where they stop.

Four training dummies are set up, and each one prompts a different assassination technique. Follow the on-screen instruction for every dummy to perform the kill correctly. The usual options here include a stealth kill from behind, a front stealth kill, a running assassination, and an air assassination.
Follow the men along the road, through the training ground, and up to the main building until you meet the Governor of the Bahamas. A cutscene triggers where Edward hands over the Glass Cube he recovered during …And My Sugar?, and the Governor gathers everyone at the map table.
While the roundtable conversation runs, you have a short window to pickpocket all three Templars standing around the table. Move behind each one and steal quickly to clear the second optional objective and pocket a good amount of Reales before the scene ends. A guard then tells Edward to meet the Governor at the docks the next morning.
With no room to rent, climb up to the tavern’s roof and find a spot to lie down for the night. Bedding down there closes out Mister Walpole, I Presume? and rolls you into the next memory, A Man They Call The Sage.
You will know the memory is complete when the mission-end screen appears after Edward settles on the roof, listing whether you earned the two optional objectives. If either shows as failed, replaying the memory from the DNA menu lets you retry the shooting timer and the Templar pickpockets cleanly.
