Breeding is the most reliable way to build a roster of strong Pals in Palworld 1.0 without hunting rare spawns in the wild. Put a male and a female into a Breeding Farm, keep them fed with Cake, and they produce an egg that hatches into a specific Pal decided by their pairing. The 1.0 update left this system intact, so the same parent combinations still hold.
Quick answer: Each male and female pair produces one offspring, decided by averaging both parents’ hidden breeding score. Most pairings fall to the nearest Pal on that scale, but a set of fixed unique combinations override the average to produce a specific Pal. Use the chart below to pick parents for the exact Pal you want.
What you need before you can breed
Breeding is a mid-game feature that stays locked until you meet a few requirements. You need character level 19 to unlock the Breeding Farm in the technology tree, and it costs 2 Technology Points to research.
- Craft the Breeding Farm with 100 wood, 20 stone, and 50 fiber.
- Place one male and one female Pal inside to start the process.
- Keep a steady supply of Cake in the farm’s feed box, or breeding stops.
- Craft an Egg Incubator, unlocked at level 7, using 2 Ancient Civilization Points, 30 stone, and 5 cloth.
- Place the egg in the incubator and wait for it to hatch.

Every Pal carries a hidden breeding score, a fixed number that ranges from single digits for legendaries up to 1500 for the most common Pals. When two Pals breed, the game averages both parents’ scores and lands on the Pal closest to that value. This is why two mid-tier parents can hatch a rarer Pal that sits between them on the scale.
A handful of pairings ignore the average and always produce a set result. These unique combinations are how you reliably breed Pals like Anubis from parents that would otherwise average out to something else. Legendaries are the strictest case. Frostallion, Necromus, Paladius, Jetragon, Bellanoir, and Blazamut only breed true from two of the same Pal, and Jetragon in particular has to be caught in the wild first.

Find the Pal you want in the left column, then breed either pairing listed beside it. Both parents in a pair must be opposite genders. Where a Pal lists a same-name pairing (for example Elizabee + Elizabee), that is often the most consistent route to that exact Pal.

Pals worth breeding first
A few Pals repay the effort of setting up a breeding line early because they carry your base for a long time. Anubis is the standout target. It has Handiwork level 6 and Mining level 6, making it one of the best base workers in the game, and it doubles as a strong combatant. Penking + Bushi is the most common route to it.

For focused base roles, Digtoise is the best dedicated miner because it has Mining and no competing work tasks to distract it. Sibelyx produces High Quality Cloth from a Ranch and also makes medicine, while Verdash covers Gathering, Lumbering, Handiwork, and Transporting as an all-round worker that can fill gaps when other Pals fall sick.
Faleris Aqua is the pick for watering-heavy farms and doubles as a fast transporter. It comes from breeding Faleris with Jormuntide, so it sits a couple of steps down a longer chain rather than being an early hatch.

Keep Cake flowing to avoid breeding stalls
Breeding stops the moment the Breeding Farm runs out of Cake, so a supply line matters more than the pairing itself once you scale up. Cake needs Flour, Red Berries, Eggs, Milk, and Honey. Flour comes from Wheat processed at a Mill, and berries are easy to farm, but the three animal products are the bottleneck.
| Ingredient | Ranch Pal |
|---|---|
| Eggs | Chikipi |
| Milk | Mozzarina |
| Honey | Beegarde |
Assign each of these to a Ranch and run two of each if you plan to breed continuously. Chikipi is common enough to catch, while Mozzarina and Beegarde can be bred from the pairings in the chart above if you would rather not hunt them.
Once an egg hatches, check the resulting Pal against the chart. If you get something other than the expected result, the parents’ genders were likely mismatched or the pairing was a general average rather than a fixed unique combination, so swap in a listed unique pair to lock the outcome.
