Palworld’s 1.0 update changed how you tune a team, and the quietest addition might be the most powerful one. Disposable Implants are single-use items that let you drop extremely rare, high-tier passive skills straight onto a Pal, skipping the long breeding chains you would normally grind through to roll them.

Quick answer: Find Disposable Implants in high-tech facility chests across the floating landmasses and the World Tree region, keep the implant in your Key Items tab, then apply its passive at a Pal Surgery Table for a gold fee. The item is consumed on use.

What Disposable Implants do differently

Standard implant modules bought from town merchants are permanent unlocks. Once you own one, it sits in your Surgery Table menu and you can apply its passive again and again for a gold cost. Disposable Implants work the opposite way. Each one is consumed the moment you use it, so you get a single application per item.

The trade is worth it because these implants carry passives you cannot buy with gold anywhere. They cover the game’s strongest tiers, including World Tree passives, mutation passives, and unique traits that were previously locked behind breeding mutations or legendary catches. Every one of them comes with a real drawback, so you are paying for raw power, not free stats.

Where to find Disposable Implants

Because the payoff is so high, you will not see Disposable Implants on any gold vendor. They come from the game’s toughest regions instead. The most reliable spots are the high-level floating landmasses and the World Tree region, where small high-tech facilities are scattered across the terrain.

To open one of these facilities, you either track down the matching Sealing Stones nearby to drop the barrier or hack the entrance panel directly. The high-tier chests inside frequently hold a random Disposable Implant, so clearing these buildings is the core farming loop.

There is a second, less consistent source. High-level Pal recruiter camps and deep-wilderness event spawns can drop lower-tier or utility-focused Disposable Implants when you fully wipe them out. These will not match the strongest chest rolls, but they are useful for filling out a support Pal.

Build the Pal Surgery Table first

An implant does nothing on its own. You need the Pal Surgery Table to apply it, and that facility has to be unlocked and placed at your base before any surgery is possible.

Reach technology level 36 and spend Technology Points to unlock the Pal Surgery Table recipe.
Build the table inside your base using 30 Refined Ingots and 20 High Quality Cloth.
Confirm the Disposable Implant is sitting in your inventory’s Key Items tab. The table automatically reads any implants you are carrying, so there is no separate loading step.

How to perform the implant surgery

Interact with the Pal Surgery Table and place the Pal you want to modify onto the station.
Open the implant menu and pick the Disposable Implant passive you want to add. Each procedure carries a flat currency fee, typically between 10,000 and 50,000 Gold Coins.
Choose a passive slot. If the Pal has fewer than four passives, the new skill fills an open slot. If it already has four, you must manually select one existing trait to be permanently deleted so the implant can take its place.
Confirm the operation. The gold fee is deducted, the passive is applied, and the Disposable Implant is removed from your inventory for good.

You know it worked when the chosen passive appears on the Pal’s trait list and the implant is gone from your Key Items tab. Both changes are permanent, so there is no undo prompt afterward.

Avoid wasting a single-use implant

The whole risk with these items is that they cannot be recovered once spent. Before you hit confirm, check the target Pal’s baseline stats, its individual values, and the passives it already has. Dropping a rare passive onto a Pal with weak base scaling burns the implant with nothing to show for it.

Note: Because every high-tier passive has a downside, match the skill to the Pal’s job. A Work Speed boost that drains sanity fast belongs on a Pal you can rotate off the base, while an Attack passive that lowers Defense suits a Pal you already build around burst damage. Pick the right host, and a single implant can save you weeks of breeding.
