Refined Ingot is the metal you smelt once you outgrow the basic Ingot in Palworld. It powers the jump from ordinary metal gear into refined weapons, tougher armor, better spheres, and most of the mid-game base machines. You cannot mine it or buy it from a merchant, so every bar has to come out of a furnace you build yourself.
Quick answer: Craft an Improved Furnace at Technology level 34, place 2 Ore and 2 Coal per bar into it, then assign a fire-type Pal with the Kindling work skill to run it. Each Refined Ingot costs 2 Ore and 2 Coal.
What you need before you can craft Refined Ingot
Refined Ingot cannot be made in the Primitive Furnace that produces basic Ingots. You need an upgraded furnace and a steady supply of two raw materials.

The Electric Furnace also produces Refined Ingot, but you unlock it much later and it needs Refined Ingot to build in the first place. For most players the Improved Furnace is the practical starting point.
Craft Refined Ingot with the Improved Furnace
You know it worked when finished Refined Ingots appear in the furnace output and move into your base storage. If nothing is being made, the usual cause is an empty queue, no Ore or Coal in range, or no Kindling Pal assigned.
Where to farm Ore and Coal
Ore is common and shows up near cliffs, caves, and rocky ground from early on. Coal is scarcer and mostly sits in desert areas to the northwest of the starting region. These coordinates give you both minerals in one trip.

Tip: Set up a mining base at an Ore-rich spot and let Pals with the handiwork skill gather it automatically. Stockpiling Ore and Coal ahead of time keeps the furnace running without constant trips back into the field.
What Refined Ingot is used for
Refined Ingot feeds a long list of recipes from roughly level 34 up to level 50, when Pal Metal Ingot takes over for the highest-tier gear. It is the backbone of refined tools, firearms and ammo, resistance armor, mount saddles, and several automation structures.
