The Night Stalker is a suppressed pistol and a badge reward added in Examination’s newest update. There are two very different ways players reach it. One is the intended challenge run tied to the NPC Yuri, and the other is a restricted-server route that shortcuts the process. Both end with the same silver pistol and an on-screen badge pop-up.
Quick answer: Speak to Yuri to start the challenge, then kill 250 infected, including the bosses and D-Zero as the final target, without dying once. Finishing awards the Night Stalker; finishing without picking a class awards the cosmetic golden version instead.
The Yuri challenge: 250 kills without dying
The main way to earn the Night Stalker is a survival challenge you start by talking to Yuri, the NPC added alongside the update. Once you accept, the objective is to eliminate 250 infected across the run. That total includes several bosses, and D-Zero is the final enemy you must defeat to close out the challenge.
The single hard rule is that you cannot die at any point. A death ends the attempt and you start the count over. Yuri and the other NPCs explain the remaining specifics through their dialogue as you play, so read those lines before you commit to a run.

Classes and the golden variant
You can take on the challenge with one of four classes. Completing it with a class awards the standard Night Stalker. If you run the whole challenge classless, the reward changes to a golden Night Stalker. That gold version is purely cosmetic and performs identically to the normal one.
| Run type | Reward | Difference |
|---|---|---|
| With a class | Night Stalker | Standard weapon |
| Classless | Golden Night Stalker | Cosmetic only, no stat change |

Add to Google Preferences →Restricted-server route (fast method)
There is a faster route that runs on a restricted server and ends with the Night Stalker sitting on the floor for you to collect. It requires beating the game, including the Sin boss, then triggering a controlled reset to reach the pickup. Follow the sequence exactly, because timing matters near the end.

Note: After you claim it, rejoin the server and pick the weapon up again from the table at spawn.
Other reported ways to get the Night Stalker
A few additional routes to the weapon have circulated among players. They vary in reliability, and some depend on server-wide events rather than anything you can start alone.
| Method | What it involves |
|---|---|
| Electrocution kill | Killing another player with electricity in the sector chamber |
| Spawn and kill D-Zero | D-Zero can appear in a public server, and players must take him down together |
| Developer gift | Receiving the weapon directly from a developer |
Attempting to force D-Zero to spawn through a keycard door can instead disconnect you with the moderation message “You get to live another day.” (Error Code: 267). Treat that outcome as a dead end rather than a step.

How to confirm you got it
You know the pickup worked when a badge pop-up appears in the bottom-right corner reading “Badge Awarded” for the HEART-OF-MENLO award. After that, the Night Stalker shows up as an item you can equip from your hotbar, listed simply as Night Stalker.
Common reasons it fails
- Running the restricted-server route on a public or VIP server. It only completes on a restricted server, and doing it elsewhere forces a full restart.
- Moving too slowly after the respawn, since the window to reach the door and stairwell is short. Expect a few tries.
- Dying during the Yuri challenge, which resets the 250-kill count from zero.
Whichever path you take, the fastest reliable outcome is the restricted-server pickup, while the Yuri challenge is the intended long-form route and the only one that hands you the golden variant. Pick the method that matches the effort you want to put in, and keep your movement tight during the reset sequence so you reach the pistol before the timer closes.
