Palworld: How to Reset Stats With Memory Wiping Medicine

The exact crafting requirements, workbench level, and Pal needed to respec your character's status points.

The exact crafting requirements, workbench level, and Pal needed to respec your character’s status points.

Resetting your character’s status points in Palworld comes down to one item, the Memory Wiping Medicine. Drink it, and every point you have spent on Health, Stamina, Attack, Defense, Work Speed, and Weight is returned to you, ready to be spent again however you like. It only works on the player, so there is no way to reroll a Pal’s stats with it.

Quick answer: Reach Technology Level 43 to unlock the Electric Medicine Workbench, power it with a Power Generator, then craft Memory Wiping Medicine using 99 Beautiful Flower, 50 Horn, 50 Bone, and 50 Aquatic Pal Fluids. Right-click the potion in your inventory and Use it on your character to reset all status points.

What Memory Wiping Medicine does

Memory Wiping Medicine is a consumable that resets your allocated status points back to their base values. After you drink it, your spent points are refunded into a fresh pool, so you can move everything into a different build without starting a new character.

The item description makes the limitation clear. It only affects the player and does nothing when fed to a Pal. When you go to use it, only your own character will be selectable in the target prompt while your party Pals stay greyed out.

Once consumed, your stats drop to these base numbers.

Requirements and crafting materials

You cannot craft this medicine at an early workbench. The Medieval Medicine Workbench does not list the recipe at all. You need one of the higher-tier stations, with the Electric Medicine Workbench being the standard route.

RequirementDetail
WorkbenchElectric Medicine Workbench (also craftable at Advanced Medicine Workbench or Ancient Workbench)
Technology Level43 to unlock the Electric Medicine Workbench
PowerA Power Generator, since the workbench needs electricity
PalA Pal with the Medicine Production work suitability

Building the Electric Medicine Workbench itself costs 40 Refined Ingot, 10 Circuit Board, and 20 Carbon Fiber. Once it is placed and powered, the Memory Wiping Medicine recipe needs the following.

MaterialAmount
Beautiful Flower99
Horn50
Bone50
Aquatic Pal Fluids50

How to craft and use Memory Wiping Medicine

Unlock the Electric Medicine Workbench in the Technology tab at Level 43 and build it in your base. Make sure a Power Generator is running nearby so the station has electricity.
Open the workbench menu, select Memory Wiping Medicine, and queue the recipe. You cannot hand-craft this item, so it will wait until a Pal takes over the job.
Assign a Pal with the Medicine Production work suitability to your base. A Pal whose only suitability is Medicine Production, such as Felbat, is ideal because it will not wander off to plant, gather, or do handiwork instead. Higher-level Medicine Production Pals like a Lv 3 crafter speed things up.

When the Pal finishes, walk up to the workbench and press F to Acquire the Memory Wiping Medicine into your inventory.
Open your inventory, right-click the Memory Wiping Medicine, and choose Use. In the “Use on whom?” prompt, select your character. Your stats will immediately reset to their base values and your full pool of status points becomes available to reallocate.

Tip: The recipe takes a while to complete even with a good crafter. If you plan to respec often, place a Witch Cauldron in your base. It costs 50 Ingot, 50 Stone, 15 Pal Fluids, and 15 High Quality Pal Oil, and it raises the Medicine Production efficiency of your Pals.

How to confirm the reset worked

Open the Inventory tab of your player menu and check the status list. If the potion took effect, every stat will show its base number and you will see your available Stat Points climb back up. From there, press the “+” button beside any stat to spend points again.

Where you put those points depends on your goals. Push Attack or Defense for a combat-focused character, or raise Work Speed to make base tasks finish faster. Weight is popular for hauling more loot, and it can be boosted further by keeping a Pal like Lunaris on your team, whose Antigravity partner skill adds to your maximum carrying capacity.

Note: An earlier version of the game had a bug where drinking this medicine also reset your catching power. That issue was fixed in patch v0.1.4.0, so a respec no longer touches your capture rate.
