Elf Mage is a Mythic unit added with the Release (0.0) build of Anime Expeditions on July 17, 2026. It deals Storm element damage through the Magical archetype, has a placement limit of 3, and builds Arcane Charges to fire escalating area attacks. The unit later evolves into Elf Mage (Unleashed).
Quick answer: Summon Elf Mage from the Standard/Mini Banner at a 0.5% rate, with a hard pity at 400 pulls. Evolve it into Elf Mage (Unleashed) using Cosmic Magic x1, Sprite (Blue) x20, Sprite (Purple) x20, Sprite (Rainbow) x1, and 5,000 Gold.
How to get Elf Mage in Anime Expeditions
Elf Mage is obtained by summoning on the Standard/Mini Banner. Each pull has a 0.5% chance to award the unit, and the banner uses a pity of 400. If you have not pulled Elf Mage by your 400th summon on that banner, the next summon guarantees it.
| Source | Rate | Pity |
|---|---|---|
| Standard/Mini Banner | 0.5% | 400 |
You can confirm the pull worked when Elf Mage appears in your unit inventory after the summon animation. A shiny variant exists and rolls from the same banner at the standard shiny odds.

Add to Google Preferences →Arcane Charge passives and spell triggers
Elf Mage works on a charge system. Every regular attack adds an Arcane Charge, and reaching certain thresholds casts a spell as a Follow-Up Attack. These are the three passives that drive the unit.
- Arcane Magic: Each regular attack grants 1 Arcane Charge, up to a capacity of 7. Charges reset once they exceed that capacity.
- Overcharge: Every time the charges reset, Arcane Spells damage increases by 5%, stacking up to 5 times.
- Arcane Spells: Spells count as Follow-Up Attacks and fire at set charge counts.
| Charges | Spell | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | Old Magic | Line AoE at 100% current damage |
| 5 | Eruption | Circle AoE at 100% current damage, inflicts Mana Burn |
| 7 | Storm | Full AoE at 100% current damage |
Note: Because Overcharge triggers on every reset, the longer Elf Mage stays deployed and attacking, the more its spell damage climbs, up to the five-stack cap.

Evolving into Elf Mage (Unleashed)
Elf Mage (Unleashed) is the evolved Mythic form, and it keeps the Light and Magical typing at the top of its kit. To perform the evolution, you need one copy of Elf Mage plus the materials below.
| Material | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Cosmic Magic | x1 |
| Sprite (Blue) | x20 |
| Sprite (Purple) | x20 |
| Sprite (Rainbow) | x1 |
| Gold | x5,000 |
Once the materials are met, the evolution consumes them and replaces Elf Mage with Elf Mage (Unleashed) in your inventory. The evolved form extends the upgrade path further, with a higher final investment than the base unit.
Elf Mage design and references
Elf Mage is modeled on Frieren from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, drawing on her most common anime appearance. Its Arcane Spells also echo Frieren’s signature offensive magic. Voltraak nods to Zoltraak, Vhalzanbel references the wide-area fire spell Vollzanbel, and Jundrathym points to the lightning spell Judradjim. These references shape the unit’s line, circle, and full-area attacks as it climbs through its charge thresholds.
