Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: Every Animus Key Location and Exchange Reward

Coordinates for every Animus Key across the Caribbean, plus the exact key cost of each Exchange item.

Coordinates for every Animus Key across the Caribbean, plus the exact key cost of each Exchange item.

Animus Keys are glowing, transparent cubes scattered across the Caribbean in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Each cube you walk up to and collect grants 30 keys, and you spend those keys in the Animus Exchange on exclusive outfits, swords, and ship cosmetics. Some cubes sit in plain sight, while others are tucked into hard-to-reach spots or stay locked until the story opens the area.

Quick answer: Travel to each coordinate below, use a nearby Vantage Point to reveal the cube on your map, then walk into it to bank 30 keys. Open the Animus menu, switch to the Exchange tab, and pick your reward.

Each region typically holds one batch of Animus Keys worth 30 each. The cubes usually appear on your map once you scout the area from a nearby Vantage Point. A few will not show up until you have sailed close to or physically entered the location, and some require story progress before the region unlocks.

A handful of these batches sit near landmarks worth noting. There is one behind the small waterfall on the southern side of Cape Bonavista, one in front of the cannons outside the Castillo San Salvador de la Punta on the northern side of Havana, and one on the northern edge of the small island west of Abaco Island in the Caribbean Sea.

How to spend keys in the Animus Exchange

Pause the game and open the Animus menu, then move to the Exchange tab. This is a separate menu from the Projects, and it is where every key-based reward lives.
Highlight the item you want. The full list of rewards and their key costs is below, so decide in advance whether you are saving for a single big-ticket item or spreading keys across several cheaper cosmetics.
Choose Acquire at the bottom of the screen. The item drops into your inventory right away, and your key balance falls by the listed amount. That balance change confirms the purchase went through.

Note: keys earned from milestone challenges are not added automatically. You have to claim them from the Animus menu before the total updates, so check that tab if a completed challenge does not seem to have paid out.

Other ways to earn Animus Keys

Collecting cubes is the steady route, but not the only one. You also earn keys by completing in-game challenges and by hitting achievements tracked through the Projects and Synchronization tabs of the Animus. Pre-order editions and microtransactions do not sell keys, so exploration and challenges remain the main supply.

Ubisoft has also handed out keys through free codes. The code ACBF-PHGN-SYBJ-RTRF grants 1500 Animus keys along with the Crimson Storm sails for the Jackdaw. Enter it while signed in on the official redemption page, and it links to your account and unlocks the items in-game.

The code stays live only for a limited redemption window, so claim it sooner rather than later. Grab as many cubes as you can as you sail between story missions, keep an eye on your challenge rewards, and you will build toward Connor’s Outfit or one of the legendary swords without much extra effort.
