Use It Against Them is a side tale in the Crimson Forest in Phantom Blade Zero. Jade Dancer wants a rematch, and she sets one rule. You have to beat her and Iron Fiend with the weapons that belong to them.
What you need before Use It Against Them
The tale locks you into two specific weapons, so you need both of them before you walk up to Jade Dancer.
- Fiend Saws is a main weapon that once belonged to Jade Dancer. You get it from the Mu Xiaokui fight at the Lakeside in the Village of Lu, and only from that fight’s extra phase against Jade Dancer and Iron Fiend. The Young Mistress tale unlocks that phase.
- The Iron Gauntlets are a Martial Phantom Edge. They drop from the Stone Hand Iron Fever fight in the Crimson Forest.
Equip both before you start the conversation. Put Fiend Saws in the main weapon slot and the Iron Gauntlets in a Phantom Edge slot.
How to start Use It Against Them
Following the Lakeside battle, Jade Dancer and Iron Fiend return to the Crimson Forest Sha-Chi Tower.
Ring the bell on the 6th Floor of Crimson Forest Sha-Chi Tower (here are all the bell locations). Jade Dancer is about 20 m from the bell and roughly 37 m above it in the tower. Iron Fiend is waiting beside her.
The map below marks Jade Dancer’s spot at the tower.
Speak to Jade Dancer. She looks back on your earlier fight with clear affection and asks for another round. This time she wants you to defeat the pair of them using nothing but their own weapons. She may also talk about her young mistress and the burden she carries. The conversation starts the tale and gives you two options: “Start sparring!” and “Not ready yet”.
Use It Against Them walkthrough
The tale objective reads:
“Challenge Jade Dancer and Iron Fiend using only the primary weapon Fiend Saws and the Phantom Edge Iron Gauntlets”
Pick “Start sparring!” Then defeat both Jade Dancer and Iron Fiend while using only Fiend Saws and the Iron Gauntlets.
After you win, Jade Dancer praises your skill and hands you the Heel Reinforcement Part as a small token of respect.
Use It Against Them reward: Heel Reinforcement Part
The item card reads:
“It began when Xiaokui noticed the wear on Jade Dancer’s heels and gave her parts to reinforce them. As those parts wore out with use, Jade Dancer kept them instead of throwing them away.
The habit of using such fittings, however, has quietly stayed with her ever since.”
The Heel Reinforcement Part is a Soul Tempering material for Fiend Saws. Tempering Fiend Saws with it unlocks the Tempering art Endless Fiend Form:
“After Fiend-Aura Erosion erupts on an enemy, all attacks against them become unblockable for 3 seconds.”
