Flame Emperor is a Mythic unit in Anime Expeditions built entirely around Burn. He applies the damage-over-time effect, spreads it across nearby enemies, and evolves into a form that can drop a burning barrier across the track. The unit draws its design from Sabo, the Mera Mera no Mi user from One Piece, and carries the Flame and Magical typings.

Quick answer: Summon Flame Emperor from the Beginner’s, Standard, or Mini Banner, clear his “Fire that Spreads” trial to get a Burning Fruit, then evolve him at the Evolve station using 20 Sprite (Red), 20 Sprite (Yellow), 1 Sprite (Rainbow), 1 Burning Fruit, and 5,000 Gold.

Flame Emperor core stats and typings

Flame Emperor deals Magical archetype damage with the Flame element. He costs 550 Yen to deploy and has a placement limit of 5, so you can field multiple copies in a single run. His value comes from applying Burn efficiently rather than from raw hits.

How to get Flame Emperor

Flame Emperor pulls from three banners. As a Mythic, his base rate is low, so plan your summons around whichever banner currently features him. The Standard Banner rotates its featured units every 30 minutes, and if Flame Emperor sits in the middle slot, half of your Mythic pulls will land on him.

BannerMythic rateNotes
Beginner’s Banner0.2%Uses Beginner’s Tickets; Flame Emperor is 12.5% of the Mythic pool
Standard Banner0.5%50% of the Mythic pool when featured in the middle; pity 400
Mini Banner0.5%Costs Gems; features one Mythic at a time

Flame Emperor evolution requirements

Evolving Flame Emperor into Flame Emperor (Reincarnate) is the real power spike, since the evolved form gains the Wall of Fire ability. Head to the Evolve station in the Upgrades zone, select Flame Emperor, and supply the following materials.

MaterialQuantity
Sprite (Red)20
Sprite (Yellow)20
Sprite (Rainbow)1
Burning Fruit1
Gold5,000

Sprites of each color come from Challenge maps and crafting, and those same Challenge runs pay out Gold along the way. The Burning Fruit is the one material you cannot buy or craft, since it drops only from Flame Emperor’s own trial.

How to clear the Fire that Spreads trial for Burning Fruit

The “Fire that Spreads [Flame Emperor]” quest lives in the Quests menu under the Unit tab. Its objective is to win Flame Emperor’s Trial, and clearing it once rewards 1 Burning Fruit plus Battlepass EXP. Select the quest and press Enter Unit Trial to begin.

Open the trial on the Rose Kingdom map with your starting Yen and place farm units first. Stone Alchemist works well as an early farm to build economy before enemies ramp up.
Add Flame Emperor (Reincarnate) copies near the path and pair them with Hollow. Flame Emperor spreads Burn while Hollow deals bonus damage to burning enemies, so the two operate as a package.
Open the Unit Manager and toggle Auto Upgrade on your Flame Emperor and Hollow units so they keep leveling as waves progress. Push Hollow’s upgrades enough to proc its passive as a safety net against leaks.
Save the Wall of Fire ability for the final wave. On the last wave, max out your farm and DPS units, then activate Wall of Fire from a fully upgraded Flame Emperor (Reincarnate) to blanket the track in Burn. Clearing the last wave brings up the Victory screen and drops the Burning Fruit into your rewards.

Wildfire passive and Wall of Fire ability

Both forms share the Wildfire passive, while the ability is exclusive to the evolved unit and only unlocks at Upgrade 8.

SkillEffect
Wildfire (passive)Whenever Burn is applied, it spreads to the 3 nearest enemies that do not already have Burn.
Wall of Fire (ability)Summons a Wall of Fire on any path within the unit’s range. Enemies passing through are inflicted with Burn. The wall cannot be repositioned or recast.

Wall of Fire unlocks at Upgrade 8 on Flame Emperor (Reincarnate) and is set to manual use, so you decide when it fires. The Burn it applies stacks alongside other debuffs and works on bosses, chipping their health as they cross the barrier.

Best traits and unit pairings

To get the most out of the unit, roll the Draconic trait, which improves both his DoT and damage. Use Stat Rerolls to push every stat toward the Z or SSS rank once you commit to keeping him.

Flame Emperor performs best when enemies stay inside his range long enough to catch fire. Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1) and String Demon (Awakened) both slow or trap enemies, holding them in place so Burn can land and spread. Hollow adds a direct damage multiplier against anything already burning, which makes it the natural closing partner for a Flame-based lineup.
