Raids are the harder, more rewarding side of Anime Expeditions. The mode plays like Story, but the maps carry tougher bosses, extra enemy modifiers, and a reward pool built around Raid Tokens and stage-exclusive units. Before you can queue, your account needs to hit a specific milestone.
Quick answer: Reach Player Level 25, open the Areas menu, switch to the Gamemode tab, select Raids, and press E to open the menu. From there you can start solo or use matchmaking.
Raids unlock requirement (Player Level 25)
Raids stay locked until your account reaches Player Level 25. Player level rises as you play, so there is no single fast route to it. You gain it by clearing Story stages, running Expeditions, summoning units, and finishing quests.
Once the counter hits 25, the mode becomes selectable from the Areas menu. If Raids still appears greyed out, keep progressing through Story or Expeditions until the level requirement is met.

You know it worked when the Raids menu opens and the act selection appears. If the option does not respond, confirm you are Player Level 25 or higher.
How Raid rewards work
Every map splits into three acts, each with its own boss and stage effects. Clearing an act pays out standard drops such as gems, gold, and unit experience, plus the mode’s key currency, Raid Tokens. Those tokens fund the Raid Shop.
Each act also has a chance to drop a unit exclusive to that stage. The higher the act difficulty, the better your odds of pulling one of those units, so pushing to Act 3 is worth it once your team can survive the modifiers.
Spirit City Raid rewards, bosses, and stage effects
Spirit City is the current Raid map, running from Act 1 through Act 3. Each act stacks new enemy modifiers on top of a unique boss, and the drop rates for its rare units climb as you go deeper.
| Act | Boss | Notable rewards | Stage effects |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Glam Reaper | Hair Bells (5%, 20 Pity), Spirit of the Moonblade (5%, 20 Pity), Shionigami Sword (2.5%), 125x Gem, 10x Raid Token, 10x Spirit Token, 125x Gold, 1000x Unit EXP, 145x Player EXP, 2x Bunny Candy | Bulwark: immune to damage for 3s every 10s; Immunity: immune to crowd control; Sprinter: 45% faster, 20% less health; Tank: 20% slower, 20% extra health |
| 2 | Silver Serpent | Reaper (5%, 20 Pity), Shinigami Sword (3%), 125x Gem, 15x Raid Token, 15x Spirit Token, 125x Gold, 1000x Unit EXP, 145x Player EXP, 2x Bunny Candy | Immunity: immune to crowd control; Retaliation Counter: stun all units 2s every 20 hits; Sprinter: 45% faster, 20% less health; Tank: 20% slower, 20% extra health |
| 3 | Berserker | 8th Sword (1%, 35 Pity), Shinigami Sword (3.5%), 125x Gem, 20x Raid Token, 20x Spirit Token, 125x Gold, 1000x Unit EXP, 145x Player EXP, 2x Bunny Candy | Greed: steal 10% HP from nearby enemies within 5 range every 10s; Immunity: immune to crowd control; Sprinter: 45% faster, 20% less health; Tank: 20% slower, 20% extra health |
Note: because most bosses ignore crowd control, slows and stuns are far less reliable here than in Story. Lean on sustained boss damage and wave coverage instead of expecting to lock enemies down.
Spending Raid Tokens in the Raid Shop
Raid Tokens only spend in the Raid Shop, and this store does not restock. Each item has a fixed purchase limit, so once a stack sells out, it is gone. Plan your buys around the upgrades you actually need rather than clearing the whole board.
| Item | Cost | Purchase limit | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sprite (Grey) | 5 Raid Tokens | 100 | A basic grey sprite, the foundation for all sprites |
| Trait Crystal | 10 Raid Tokens | 50 | Rerolls a unit’s trait |
| Stat Reroll | 10 Raid Tokens (3x for 10) | 10 | Rerolls a unit’s stat potential |
| Stat Lock | 10 Raid Tokens | 10 | Locks a unit’s stat potential while rerolling |
| Equipment Reroll | 10 Raid Tokens (3x for 10) | 10 | Rerolls an equipment’s stat potential |
| Equipment Lock | 10 Raid Tokens | 10 | Locks an equipment’s stat potential |
Tip: if the shop is out of the Trait Crystals or Stat Rerolls you want, active Anime Expeditions codes are the next best source for those same materials.
Raids reward preparation more than speed. Gear your units, cover both the boss and the incoming waves, and push each act as high as your team can hold to raise your chance at the exclusive units. You can jump straight into a run from the official experience once you have cleared Level 25.
