The Secret Bunker in Fisch sits on a small island called Birch Cay, and for a long time its metal hatch stayed sealed. That changed with the Volcano Eruption live event, which opened the hatch and let players walk down into the room below.

Birch Cay is a small grassy island northeast of Moosewood, sitting right behind The Arch. It is easy to recognize by its birch trees, stone structures, and the closed metal bunker hatch set into the ground.

If you carry a GPS, head to the coordinates below. The hatch is out in the open on the island surface, so once you land you should see it quickly.

How to open the bunker hatch

Get to Birch Cay. The simplest way is to equip your GPS from the backpack and steer toward the coordinates listed above until you reach the island.

Walk onto the metal hatch on the ground. When you are close enough, the [E] Open prompt appears on screen.

Press E to open the hatch and walk down the concrete stairs. A short loading screen reading “Return To Forsaken Shores” plays before you drop into the room.

To leave, walk back up the stairs and press E again to exit onto the island.

Tip: The prompt only shows when you stand directly on the hatch. If you do not see it, adjust your position until you are centered on the metal cover.

Reaching Birch Cay without a GPS

You do not need a GPS to find the island. Head to Mushgrove Swamp, spawn a jet ski on the shore, and drive straight out from the back of the swamp island. Holding that line across the open water leads you directly to Birch Cay.

What is inside the bunker

The room underneath is small and mostly decorative. Inside you will find metal pipes running along the walls, filing cabinets, and a desk holding a lamp, a book, and three small framed portraits. There is also a framed picture of the game’s development team and a framed “SHOP” poster.

None of the objects can be interacted with right now, so there is no reward waiting inside. The space reads as a hint of something tied to a future quest rather than a payout you can collect today.

How to confirm it worked

You know the hatch has opened when the “Return To Forsaken Shores” loading screen plays and you land in the underground room with the pipes, cabinets, and desk. If pressing E does nothing, you are almost always standing just off the hatch, so recenter on the metal cover until the [E] Open prompt shows again.

Because the interior is currently just a set dressing, treat this as an exploration stop for now. Getting in and back out is the whole task, and Birch Cay is worth remembering in case the bunker takes on a role in a later update.
