Version 1.16.00 reshapes how money moves through Crimson Desert. The trading loop is the centerpiece, with far more places to sell, higher payouts for hard routes, and a dedicated map layer that tracks posts, workshops, and wagon routes. Banking gets its own set of tools too, including an interest cap and a new shop that trades bonds for rare items.
Quick answer: Install update 1.16.00 on any platform except the Mac App Store version (still rolling out), then open the new Trade tab on the map to see the 133 added trading posts, 7 wagon workshops, and live routes. Deliver to royal trading posts for quadrupled prices, and use hard-to-reach posts for higher profit.
How trading posts pay out now
There are now 133 additional trading posts, including a merchant stationed at the Pailune Trading Post. New posts do not all appear at once. They unlock as you progress the quests tied to each location, so a fresh save and a late-game save will show different post density on the map.
Pricing rewards effort. Posts that are difficult to reach by wagon pay more, and royal trading posts now pay four times the previous rate for trade goods. Selling large quantities of the same good in one place pushes its price down, so spreading sales across posts protects your margins. Overall trading profit is higher than before across the board.
One long-standing annoyance is gone. Wagons no longer vanish after you deliver goods to a royal trading post, so you keep the vehicle for the return trip.

| Change | Effect |
|---|---|
| Royal trading posts | Trade good prices quadrupled |
| Hard-to-reach posts | Higher profit than easy-access posts |
| Overselling at one spot | Prices drop as quantity rises |
| Royal post delivery | Wagon is kept, not removed |
| Minimum sale | A single trade good can be sold |
New trade goods and stacking rules
The catalog grows by 24 high-value trade goods and 4 regular ones. How you carry them has changed too. Packaged goods stack up to 10 or 100 depending on their price tier, while unpackaged goods held in your inventory stack to 5 or 50 per slot. You can also move trade goods between your wagon and your horse, which makes route planning more flexible.
There is a trade-off to watch. Retrieving your horse or wagon, or destroying your wagon, now loses more trade goods than before. Plan retrievals carefully when you are carrying valuable cargo.
Wagon workshops act as intermediate posts
Seven wagon workshops are spread across Pywel, and they work as intermediate trading posts. At a workshop you can package and load trade goods before hauling them onward, which shortens the gap between gathering stock and getting it onto a wagon.
The workshops are located at Hernand, Demeniss, Delesyia, Pailune, Tommaso, Urdavah, and Varnia.
The map Trade tab and route tracking
A new Trade tab sits on the map and gathers everything commerce-related in one view. It shows trading posts, royal trading posts, wagon workshops, and wagon routes together, so you no longer have to guess where a route runs.
Filters let you find posts that sell a specific good, and opening a post’s details shows the market prices for all goods there. The average buy price is displayed as well, which makes it easier to judge whether a sale is worthwhile. When you are riding a wagon, its route now appears on the minimap.
- Register items to the map item filter by focusing a packaged trade good in horse inventory, wagon inventory, a trade shop buy/sell screen, or storage.
- Checking trade goods on the map also shows how many you are carrying on horses and wagons.
- A special marker flags merchants who buy or sell items affected by trade-related events.

Banking, bonds, and the Bond Shop
Bank interest is now capped. You can gain or lose at most 40 gold bars through interest, which limits both the upside and the risk of leaving money parked. A new Claim Bank Strongbox option ties into bonds as an investment path.
Depositing 10 or more bonds lets you start investing. Bonds can be exchanged for 10 gold bars each, and the new Bond Shop lets you spend bonds on rare items.
| Banking feature | Detail |
|---|---|
| Interest cap | Maximum 40 gold bars gained or lost |
| Claim Bank Strongbox | Deposit 10+ bonds to begin investing |
| Bond exchange | Bonds convert to 10 Gold Bars |
| Bond Shop | Buy rare items using bonds |
Fixes and quality-of-life beyond trading
The patch resolves a wide spread of gameplay issues alongside the economy work. Contribution points can no longer exceed 100, several challenges that failed to track or complete now work, and multiple quests that could stall have been unblocked, including “Assassinate Count Byron” and adjustments to “Where Misery Gathers” in Chapter 2. A total of 421 missing quest-related knowledge entries were restored.
Combat and control fixes cover both alternate protagonists, Damiane and Oongka, plus general issues such as Charged Shot now working while running with a ranged weapon and improved combo transitions after a Stab. Explosive items stack in groups of 10 and can go on quick slots, squirrel-type animals can be skinned, and the Martial Monk outfit set can now be dyed.
On PC, the update implements AMD FSR SDK 2.3.0, adds FSR Upscaling 4.1 support on AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series (RDNA 3) GPUs, and updates Ray Regeneration to 1.2.0. Distant-object visibility problems and window-edge flickering were also addressed, along with localization corrections across all supported languages.
Where the update is live
Update 1.16.00 is available now on Steam for both Windows and Mac, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store. The Mac App Store version arrives at a later time and is still in progress, so if you play through that storefront you may need to wait before the trading overhaul appears.
You can confirm the patch installed by opening the map and checking for the new Trade tab. If it is present, the trading posts, wagon workshops, and banking features described above are active on your save as you progress the quests that unlock each location.
