The Portal is a slow-paced Roblox MMORPG where early strength comes from quests, gear, skills, achievements, and codex progress rather than fast farming. The choices that matter most happen right at the start. You pick a starting food that decides your race, then commit to a class and build your stats around it. Fixing a wrong pick later costs rerolls and job changes you would rather save.
Quick answer: Redeem every code first, then choose your race food for the class you want. Pick Milk (Human/Corrupted Human) for Defender, Meat (Beast Man, ideally Fox) for Warrior, and Mushroom (Elf/High Elf) for Enchanter or Cleric. Then level only that class’s main stats.

Redeem The Portal codes before spending rerolls
Code rewards include race rerolls, job changes, and other starter items, so claiming them early is what keeps your build flexible. Redeem them before you lock a race or change jobs.
| Code | Reward type |
|---|---|
| 2KLIKES | Starter rewards (rerolls, job changes, or other bonuses) |
| RELEASE | Starter rewards (rerolls, job changes, or other bonuses) |
| THROUGHTHEPORTAL | Starter rewards (rerolls, job changes, or other bonuses) |
| CHAPTER2 | Starter rewards (rerolls, job changes, or other bonuses) |
| 7 | 1 Wooden Glider and 1 Pet Chicken Ticket (bonus try) |
To enter them, open the right-side menu, choose Settings, then open Codes and type each one. You know a code worked when the reward lands in your rewards or inventory. Treat the code 7 as an extra attempt rather than a guaranteed grab, since public listings for similarly named portal games often mix different experiences.

Add to Google Preferences →How starting food decides your race
Your race comes from the food you choose as a baby. Milk starts the Human route, Meat starts the Beast Man route, and Mushroom starts the Elf route. Each route has a rare variant that carries the stat bonuses worth rerolling for.
| Food | Race result | Rare variant bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Milk | Human 90%, Corrupted Human 10% | Corrupted Human adds Strength and Vitality |
| Meat | Beast Man Cat 45%, Wolf 45%, Fox 10% | Fox adds Agility and Dexterity |
| Mushroom | Elf, with a 10% chance at High Elf | High Elf adds Intelligence and Wisdom |
The rare variants are the real reroll targets. Aim for Corrupted Human on a Defender, Beast Man Fox on a Warrior, and High Elf on an Enchanter or Cleric.

Best race for each class
The cleanest way to choose is to match your race bonus to the stats your class will level anyway. Defender leans on Human’s Strength and Vitality path, Warrior benefits from Fox’s Agility and Dexterity, and both magic classes want Elf because High Elf raises Intelligence and Wisdom.
| Class | Best race |
|---|---|
| Warrior | Beast Man Fox; Human is a usable early pick |
| Defender | Human, ideally Corrupted Human |
| Enchanter | Elf, ideally High Elf |
| Cleric | Elf, ideally High Elf |

Class stats and skill roles
Each class has one clear job. Cover its main stats first, then spread points into secondaries. A Warrior that skips Strength and Dexterity, or a Cleric that skips Wisdom and Intelligence, will feel weak even with a good race.
| Class | Role | Main stats |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | High physical damage, low HP | Strength, Dexterity; then Vitality, Agility |
| Defender | High HP and physical defense, low magic defense | Vitality, Strength, Wisdom |
| Enchanter | High magic damage, low HP and physical defense | Intelligence, Dexterity; then Vitality |
| Cleric | Support, strong magic defense, low damage | Wisdom, Intelligence; then Vitality |
The skill sets follow those roles. Warrior lists Sword Mastery, Dagger Mastery, Blade Fury, Battle Cry, Bash, and Blade Circle for direct combat. Defender lists Sword Mastery, Blood Mastery, Whirlwind, Iron War, Bash, and Timber Charge for holding pressure. Enchanter lists Staff Mastery, Entangle, Enchant Weapon, Meteor Shower, Sacrifice, and Mana Shield, so positioning matters more than durability. Cleric lists Staff Mastery, Heal, Bless, Holy Wounds, River Wave, Sacrifice, and Mana Shield for survivability through support.

Early quests, money, and combat points
Finish the tutorial instead of skipping it, then follow the main questline and let those quests push you into combat. Defeating enemies through quests is the intended early rhythm, and it teaches the systems without forcing you to guess where power comes from.
Do not rush the opening wheat harvest quest. If it stalls, slow down and follow the requirements exactly, filling the till, water, and harvest steps in order. The early errands are part of the pacing, not something to brute-force.
For money, there is no instant route. Gather berries and metal scraps while you complete quests and let your funds build gradually. Also work through the adventure book and achievements, including tasks like Anatomy Studies, Something’s Fishy, and Fish Landlord, since achievements can award stats such as Agility and Dexterity.
Combat points climb from four inputs, so treat all of them as progress. Your equipment, upgraded skills, achievement progress, and codex or adventure book completion each raise the number that measures how strong your character is.

Mistakes that stall your build
The costliest early mistake is a casual job change. Moves do not carry over, so switching jobs deletes learned skills, including an ultimate you already invested time into. If your ultimate disappears after a change, it is gone rather than hidden in another menu.
Reroll Mirrors, which reset your race, come from claimed rewards or the in-game shop. Since both mirrors and job changes are limited, redeem codes and settle on your race and class plan before you spend them.
- Do not skip the tutorial. It teaches the opening flow, and skipping it leaves you more likely to get stuck on early quest requirements.
- Do not expect fast money or instant power. The game is built around slow progression, so plan around it instead of fighting it.
- Do not spread stats before your class’s main requirements are covered.
Xbox and PS5 support is planned for the future, but no release date is confirmed yet. For now, the winning approach is simple. Claim your codes, roll for the rare race variant that matches your class, feed your class its main stats, and let quests, gear, and achievements carry your combat points upward.
