The Cauldron is the crafting station that turns raw crops, crystals, and animal drops into potions in Moonlight Peaks. It starts out broken, so you can’t brew anything until you finish a short quest that repairs it and teaches you your first recipe. After that, it stays a permanent fixture you interact with to make tonics, elixirs, and potions.
Quick answer: Open your front door to receive your mother’s broken cauldron and start the “Mend it with Magic” quest, bring Fiona 2 Mana Essence, and wait about a day for her to return it. Brewing unlocks the moment she hands it back with the Alter Ego Elixir recipe.
How to get the broken cauldron in Moonlight Peaks
The Cauldron once belonged to your mother, Laveau, and it reaches you by mail. Viktor delivers a crate to your door and warns that the contents are fragile. He’s right. The old cauldron cracks during the trip and arrives unusable, which kicks off the “Mend it with Magic” quest.
This is a story quest, so you can’t rush it or miss it. It triggers through normal progression after you’ve settled in and started working with the witches, and it happens right at your front door.

The town’s witches point you to Fiona for the repair. Ordinary magic won’t hold the fragile cauldron together, so she reinforces it with Mana Essence to restore both its strength and its magical properties.
You’ll know it worked when Fiona hands back the repaired cauldron and teaches you the cauldron blueprint plus your first recipe, the Alter Ego Elixir. That completes the quest and permanently unlocks potion brewing.
Note: Fiona jokes about brewing the Alter Ego Elixir to change Viktor back to his human form. Giving him the potion doesn’t do that. He simply reacts the way he would to any gift.
How to brew potions at the cauldron
Once the cauldron is placed and working, brewing needs two things: the recipe and the exact ingredients it calls for. You can’t drop random items in and hope for a result.
