Adopt Me: How to Get Free Pets Without Robux

Daily tasks, Star Rewards, the Pet Releaser, and events all hand out pets if you show up and play consistently.

Daily tasks, Star Rewards, the Pet Releaser, and events all hand out pets if you show up and play consistently.

The rarest critters in Adopt Me sit behind a Robux paywall, but plenty of pets never cost real money at all. If you log in regularly and know which systems reward you, your pen fills up on its own. The trick is spreading effort across a few reliable methods instead of grinding one.

Quick answer: Finish three Daily Tasks each day to earn a free egg, log in for Star Rewards to bank Stars toward the Golden and Diamond Eggs, and feed unwanted pets into the Pet Releaser for Tickets. All three run purely on playtime.

Complete Daily Tasks for a free egg

The Task Board sits on the left side of your screen and refreshes a new set of objectives every 24 hours. Clear three of them and you get a free themed egg on top of the Bucks. That works out to seven eggs a week and roughly 30 a month, none of which cost you anything.

Open the Task Board and switch to the Daily Egg tab. You will see three tasks that rotate daily.
Knock out each objective. These are simple things like earning pet experience, hatching an egg, filling your pet’s needs, visiting another player’s home, or earning money from a job. Each finished task pays 25 Bucks.
Complete all three within the day to claim the free egg. The current themed egg holds ten pets ranging from Common to Legendary, so there is a real shot at something valuable each day.

Star Rewards and daily login bonuses

Simply logging in feeds the Star Rewards track. You collect Stars from the Hatch and Lay Bonus, which lands at least once every 15 hours and can include Bucks, Cracked Eggs, and chests. As your Star total climbs, you unlock milestone rewards along the way.

The big prizes are the Golden Egg and the Diamond Egg, both of which are guaranteed to hatch a super rare pet such as a Golden Griffin, Golden Dragon, or Golden Unicorn, or their Diamond versions. Reaching the Golden Egg takes weeks of daily logins, and the Diamond Egg takes even longer, but they remain some of the most prized free items in the game.

Note: Missing a single day is fine. A two-day gap breaks your login streak, but you keep every Star you have already earned and can continue toward future milestones.

Farm Bucks and buy eggs at the Nursery

Bucks are the core currency and the most flexible route to pets. You earn them by meeting your active pet’s needs at the meal, bath, and sleep areas, and by working jobs on Adoption Island. Once you have enough saved, head to the Gumball Machine in the Nursery and buy an egg to hatch.

EggCost (Bucks)Best rarity available
Cracked Egg350Rare
Pet Egg600Ultra Rare (15% chance, 3% Legendary)
Endangered Egg750Legendary (3% chance)
Royal Egg1,450Legendary (increased odds)

For pure value, the Pet Egg is the smart pick at 600 Bucks thanks to its combined 15% Ultra Rare and 3% Legendary odds. If you want to chase the rarest pets, the single best thing you can do is stack Bucks so you can afford more egg pulls regardless of which event is running.

Trade in duplicates at the Pet Releaser

Sitting in the Nursery, the Pet Releaser turns pets you no longer want into Tickets, a currency you spend on exclusive eggs and pets. Talk to Jane or Tom in the Pet Releaser room, pick the pets to release, and confirm. Your Tickets arrive instantly, scaled to how rare each pet was.

Neon pets multiply the base value by 20x and Mega Neon by 100x. A Fly Potion adds a 300-Ticket bonus and a Ride Potion adds 150. Since the February 2026 overhaul removed the old timer system, releases pay out immediately.

Spend Tickets on the Basic Egg for 400, the Crystal Egg for 4,000, or limited pets like the Dire Wolf at 3,000. The Crystal Egg carries a small 0.1% chance at the Legendary Giant Panda, making it the standout target for release grinders.

Events and Admin Abuse drops

Seasonal events run throughout the year, from Halloween to the Winter Holiday, and each one reshapes Adoption Island with minigames and an event-exclusive currency. Playing those minigames and tending your pets during the event earns extra Bucks, and some events sell an item that unlocks an Ultra-Rare pet. Past examples include the Year of the Horse and the Valentine’s Heartbreak event, both of which handed out large amounts of Bucks.

Adopt Me also runs occasional Admin Abuse events where developers hand out goodies directly, including free Neon pets. Many of these rewards are limited-time and may never return, so they are among the fastest ways to grab valuable pets. Schedules are posted on the game’s Roblox page, so check announcements before you log in.

How to know a method worked

Each system confirms itself in the UI. A finished Task Board shows the free egg drop into your inventory, Star Rewards displays your climbing Star total and unlocked milestones, and the Pet Releaser posts your Ticket balance the moment you confirm a release. If an egg is not appearing, the usual reason is an incomplete daily set, a broken login streak, or not yet reaching the Ticket or Star threshold for that reward.

The most efficient approach is to run all of these together. Clear your daily tasks, log in for Stars, funnel spare pets through the Releaser, and pour every Buck into Pet Eggs. Common pets are the easiest to stockpile because of their high hatch rates, which also makes them the smartest base for Neon and Mega Neon projects down the line.
