Aion 2 ships with eight playable classes, and the gap between them on the damage meter is wide enough that your pick changes how fast you clear a dungeon and how quickly a party invite lands in your lap. The current global client sorts them into a clear order for raw output, even though support classes that sit near the bottom of that chart stay in constant demand.

Quick answer: Chanter and Ranger post the highest relative DPS right now, Gladiator and Sorcerer follow, and Cleric trails on pure damage while remaining the party’s most-wanted member for its healing.

Aion 2 damage ranking: all eight classes by meter DPS

The table below ranks every class by its relative DPS rating pulled from top-percentile endgame parses across dungeons, expeditions and training-dummy runs. The rating is a comparative figure, not damage per second in a vacuum, so read it as a ladder rather than an absolute.

TierClassRelative DPS
SChanter119.1
SRanger116.0
AGladiator106.6
ASorcerer100.5
BTemplar95.4
BAssassin93.7
CSpiritmaster80.6
CCleric65.5

Class balance comparisons are unreliable until a character has its active skills and Stigmas at level 20. Below that point the numbers swing, so treat early placements as provisional.

Why Chanter and Ranger lead

Chanter sits at the top of the output ladder while also carrying party buffs on a staff, which is an unusual combination for a hybrid. It heals, buffs and still contributes meaningful damage, so it rarely feels like dead weight in a group.

Ranger trades almost nothing to land second. Its damage comes from range, so it keeps attacking through boss movement that forces melee classes to reposition and lose uptime. That consistency is why it holds up in both farming and endgame content.

The middle of the pack

Gladiator pairs greatsword cleave with heavy self-sustain. Its passive Blood Absorption has a 50 percent chance to restore health on a landed hit and immediately returns 26 percent of its maximum HP when it drops to half or below, which makes it one of the most forgiving classes for solo play.

Sorcerer brings heavy magical burst and strong area pressure from 20m, but its damage is sensitive to movement and its health pool is thin. Given clean casting windows it climbs; in a fight that keeps pushing it off target, it drops.

Templar and Assassin land in the same band for very different reasons. Templar is the frontline tank, so its lower meter position reflects a job that is about holding enmity and shielding rather than topping damage. Assassin has a high single-target ceiling but is fragile and demanding, so an average parse undersells what a practised player can reach.

Why Spiritmaster and Cleric sit at the bottom

Spiritmaster leans on damage over time and summoned spirits rather than front-loaded bursts, which reads lower on a parse even when its sustained pressure and solo safety are strong. Its Earth Spirit pulls enmity and its Wind Spirit heals, so it clears solo content with little incoming damage.

Cleric posts the lowest damage figure by a clear margin, but that number misses the point of the class. As the dedicated healer with resurrection, cleanses and party sustain, it draws the fastest group invites and stays essential in difficult dungeons and large-scale PvP.

Class weapons, roles and skill counts

Before you commit, it helps to know what each class holds, the party role it fills and how deep its kit runs. The counts below are the full skill totals in the shipped game, covering both regular and Stigma skills.

ClassWeaponRoleSkills

GladiatorGreatswordTank, Dealer39
SorcererSpellbookDealer39
AssassinDaggerDealer38
ChanterStaffHealer, Dealer37
RangerBowDealer37
TemplarLongswordTank36
ClericMaceHealer36

Spiritmaster carries the deepest kit at 44 skills, matching its spirit-management playstyle, while Templar and Cleric sit at the leaner end. Brawler, a Fist user with a Dealer role and 36 skills, is not playable at global launch.

Light of Protection on a Cleric and Undefeated Mantra on a Chanter provide identical boosts: 10.5 percent more PvE damage and damage tolerance. Since the two effects cannot stack, the higher-level version takes effect; use the other character’s Stigma slot for something else.

Sorcerer damage build: manastones, soulstones and Hellfire specialties

If you take the Sorcerer into endgame damage content, top performers converge on a narrow set of stat priorities and skill upgrades. The pattern is consistent enough to copy directly into your enhancement and skill trees.

Stat priorities

Manastone slots lean heavily into Weapon Damage Boost at 50 percent, Critical Damage Boost at 35 percent and Front Attack Damage Boost at 15 percent. Soulstones shift the emphasis toward crit, leading with Critical Damage Boost at 63 percent, then Front Attack Damage Boost at 38 percent and Weapon Damage Boost at 37 percent, with smaller shares of flat Damage Boost and Back Attack Damage Boost.

Hellfire specialty choices

Hellfire is the Sorcerer’s main burst skill, and three specialty options recur in top builds. Option 1 adds +30 percent Skill Speed so the charge lands faster, Option 4 makes the hit ignore Block and Evasion and land as a Multi-Hit, and Option 5 cuts the cooldown by 15 seconds.

You cannot pick all of these from the start. A skill’s full list of specialty options opens once it reaches level 16, and the third specialty slot unlocks at level 20, so you need to invest in the skill before the build comes together.

You will know the build is applied when the specialty icons light up in the skill tree and the skill tooltip shows the new effects, such as the speed increase or the shortened cooldown, on the skill you upgraded.

How this ranking was put together

Tier order compares relative DPS using parse data from leading players in endgame dungeons, expeditions, and dummy tests, alongside each class’s kit, weapon, and role. Meter rankings reset each Wednesday at 07:30, so the exact figures vary from week to week.

This order reflects the global client on game build b25800038 as of early October 2026, with the standing level-20 caveat in place. Damage charts are only one lens: a tank or healer that reads low on output can still be the most valuable seat in a party, and your own comfort with a class’s rotation will often matter more than a few points of relative DPS.
