Among Aion 2’s Transcendence dungeons, Deus Research Base is a group run centered on clearing foes, defeating bosses, and collecting Arcana cards. Stage 2 is the second tier in its four-level difficulty range. It follows the lowest tier’s route and features the same three bosses, but enemies are stronger, a combat debuff is added, and the loot pool expands to include Epic-grade Arcana. The dungeon takes place at Atheron’s concealed facility in Deus, a storm-battered region of the Abyss, and ends with the construct Atiel.

Quick answer: Stage 2 requires a Gear Score of 1,900+, applies the Balance debuff, and runs the same route as Stage 1 — clear enemies, defeat Gelcos and Nazmun, then kill Atiel to open the Odyle Energy Cube.

Stage 2 entry requirement and the Balance debuff

Each stage of Deus Research Base gates entry behind a Gear Score. Stage 2 asks for 1,900, up from 1,600 at Stage 1, with Stage 3 at 2,200 and Stage 4 at 2,500. The dungeon supports a party of two to five players and is listed under the Transcendence activity rather than an ordinary difficulty option.

What separates Stage 2 from the opening tier is the Balance debuff. When an Elite Tier 3 or higher enemy dies, it leaves a Balance Zone on the ground. Inside that zone, surviving monsters gain a damage boost and players take damage over time. It makes standing on top of a freshly killed pack a liability, so it is worth moving off a corpse pile rather than fighting in place.

Stage 2 drops Arcana from Common up through Epic grade. The higher tiers add their own debuffs on top of Balance — Wrath at Stage 3 and Judgment at Stage 4 — so Stage 2 is the point where the dungeon’s optional pressure begins without stacking multiple effects at once.

The route from a Templar’s point of view

From the tank’s viewpoint, a Templar-led group enters Aerial Research Center Ruins, applies buffs, then quickly cuts through the security forces lining the corridors. The route to Atiel stays sealed until the party reaches the required enemy-clear count; defeating these opening groups fills the progress bar and unlocks the final arena.

Floating platforms connect the combat areas. To get over the gaps, jump and glide between the crumbling structures; in certain hallways, avoid the red laser tripwires by moving on foot. One useful approach is to have a player run ahead and switch on the teleporter waypoints while everyone else deals with the monsters.

More guard packs appear on open walkways as the party pushes toward the Collapsed Sky Island and the Pseudo-Odyle Workshop. Clearing them keeps the progress count climbing, and with the Balance debuff active it pays to pull them away from choke points before finishing them off.

The final stretch climbs an elevated rocky path beside the workshop’s ornate structures before the party flies into the Central Research Base arena where Atiel waits.

The three bosses

Deus Research Base has three bosses, all at level 45. Gelcos and Nazmun are the intermediate encounters, and Atiel is the finale. Each intermediate boss counts as roughly 45 defeated enemies toward the clear requirement, which is why groups almost always kill both rather than skipping them. Doing so also adds their loot to the end-of-run cube.

Gelcos

The sword-wielding captain opens with an Electric Charge Rush — he moves to an arena edge, targets a player, lashes with a whip, then charges through everything in his path. Pulling him to a corner reduces how much of the floor his whip and charge deny. His other pattern is a ground-pound that resolves into an area slam split by nine lines, with safe lanes near his body, immediately followed by a second slam, so the group moves out then steps back in.

Nazmun

Nazmun fills the arena with rotating laser beams that persist through the fight and damage anything they touch. Jumping over them instead of running around saves repositioning and stamina. He also marks a player with a white ring, then detonates a delayed explosion after about three seconds, so the marked player peels away from the group. When he tags several players at once, everyone spreads.

Atiel

Atiel is a large construct with water and frost area attacks and a shrinking arena. During set phases it strips away the outer edge of the floor, killing anyone standing there, while pushing players outward with an aura — the counter is to move toward Atiel as it charges. It then fires blue orbs that shove players off the arena, and it chains together party members who stand close to one another.

Atiel

Two more patterns demand coordination. Atiel grabs a player for a downward smash that can one-shot, and it tethers two players together while hitting a third with a heavy blow. Tethered players run apart to break the link, and the rest of the group stacks on the targeted player to spread the big hit. When Atiel drops to 30% health it casts Morphic World, a ten-second stagger check.

If the party fails to stagger Atiel before the Morphic World timer runs out, it resolves into a full wipe. Rotate around the arena and commit stagger skills during that window.

Rewards and the Odyle Energy Cube

Clearing the dungeon ends on the Transcendence Complete screen with a rank and time score, and an Odyle Energy Cube appears for post-run loot. Opening that cube consumes Odyle Energy, which you stock up through reward boxes, the battle pass, and attendance. The cube holds the dungeon’s 14 obtainable items, and killing both intermediate bosses first folds their loot pools into it.

Deus Research Base is the source for the Compass and Bell Arcana families, alongside Chalice, which makes it one of the two key dungeons for building an Arcana collection. The rest of the pool is upgrade material.

Atiel carries the deepest drop table of the three, including the Epic-grade Compass and Bell Arcana that Stage 2 unlocks. These are the per-kill chances on the final boss.

Atiel also drops Silentium, Soul Codex, Enhance Stone, and Kina without a fixed rate. Both Gelcos and Nazmun hand out Soul Codex at 40% and the Amplify Stone Fragment at 20%, with their own spread of Chalice, Compass, and Bell Arcana at Common grade and lower manastone and soulstone rolls beneath that.

You know a run counted when the Transcendence Complete screen displays your rank score and the Odyle Energy Cube becomes available to open. From there it is a matter of spending Odyle Energy on the cube and repeating the route, with Stage 2 sitting in the sweet spot between the no-debuff opener and the heavier Wrath and Judgment tiers above it.
