Aion 2’s endgame has a staffing problem. Party recruitment boards for Transcendence dungeons are filling with the same request over and over: a Cleric. Groups sit half-formed for long stretches because the one class built purely around healing is in short supply, and no other class can reliably take its place once boss damage ramps up.
Quick answer: Aion 2 has only two classes that can heal, Cleric and Chanter. Endgame groups need both, and Clerics are scarce, so Transcendence parties stall waiting for one.
Why Clerics are the bottleneck
Only two classes carry a healing role in Aion 2, and they do not do the same job. The Cleric’s single party role is Healer. The Chanter is listed as both Healer and Dealer, which makes it a support hybrid that mixes buffs with some restorative output rather than a full-time medic.
That distinction stops mattering in casual content and starts mattering a lot in Transcendence. Boss encounters there push incoming damage high enough that a Chanter’s healing alone cannot keep a group alive. The practical result is that endgame parties want two support slots filled, one Chanter and one Cleric, instead of treating the two as interchangeable.
Because the player base skews heavily toward damage classes, the Cleric slot becomes the choke point. Scroll any recruitment board for a Transcendence run and most listings are openly advertising for a healer, with combat-power thresholds attached. Waits stretching to an hour or two are common when dozens of groups are all competing for the same handful of available Clerics on a server.

Add to Google Preferences →Which classes fill which roles
The shortage comes down to how the class roster is built. Of the playable classes, the vast majority are Dealers, two are Tanks, and only the Cleric and Chanter touch healing at all. Here is how the roles line up.
| Class | Main weapon | Party roles |
|---|---|---|
| Cleric | Mace | Healer |
| Chanter | Staff | Healer, Dealer |
| Templar | Longsword | Tank |
| Gladiator | Greatsword | Tank, Dealer |
| Ranger | Bow | Dealer |
| Assassin | Dagger | Dealer |
| Sorcerer | Spellbook | Dealer |
| Spiritmaster | Orb | Dealer |
| Brawler | Fist | Dealer |
The Cleric is the only class with Healer as its sole purpose, which is exactly why it cannot be swapped out. The Chanter can stand in as a second support, but it leans on buffs and physical attacks, drawing from a 37-skill kit that includes group tools like Blessing of Life, Protection Circle and Recuperation. The Cleric’s 36 skills run heavier on direct restoration, with Healing Light, Radiant Recovery, Light of Regeneration and Warm Benediction.
The Brawler is not playable at global launch, so it does nothing to relieve the healer gap even though it exists on the roster.
Where the bottleneck shows up: Shattered Arkanis Stage 2
Shattered Arkanis is the party dungeon where the shortage is most visible right now. It runs on two difficulties, Exploration and Transcendence, and holds three level 56 bosses: Siliator of Deceit, Ruthilis of Pain and Talisra of the Void. Each has a 20 percent chance to drop an Amplify Stone Fragment, so there is a clear reason groups keep queuing for it.
Transcendence scales its entry requirement across stages. The gear score gate climbs through 1,600, 1,900, 2,200 and 2,500, meaning Stage 2 asks for a gear score of 1,900 on a character that has reached level 45. Group size runs 2 to 5 players depending on the setup.

A character sitting at the Stage 2 gate, roughly level 45 with a gear score just under 2,000 and around 90,000 combat power, is squarely in range to run it. The limiting factor is not the player’s own readiness. It is whether a Cleric ever shows up to complete the party. The same math repeats across other Transcendence dungeons that lean on heavy sustained damage, from the level 68 Submerged Life Temple to the level 78 and 80 content further up the ladder.
| Stage | Required gear score | Players |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 | 1,600 | 2–5 |
| Stage 2 | 1,900 | 2–5 |
| Stage 3 | 2,200 | 2–5 |
| Stage 4 | 2,500 | 2–5 |
A chat bug makes coordination harder
On top of the staffing problem, text chat is unreliable. A “Please Try Again Later” message can appear when you send a message, after which both outgoing and incoming messages stop displaying. That makes it difficult to message a prospective Cleric directly or organize a run on the fly, so players lean on the recruitment board’s status tags instead.

After chat becomes locked, switch to another character, go through a loading screen, or log in again to regain the ability to talk with the group you put together. These steps don’t solve the underlying shortage.
What it means if you are still picking a class
The imbalance cuts both ways. For damage players, the wait is the cost of a roster stacked with Dealers. For anyone who has not committed to a class yet, rolling a Cleric turns that wait into leverage, since a dedicated healer gets near-instant invites to Transcendence groups that would otherwise stall.
Until more players take up the Cleric, or the Chanter’s healing is retuned to cover endgame damage on its own, the pattern holds. The content is clearable and the gear-score gates are reachable. The missing piece is the person in the Mace slot keeping everyone standing.
