AION 2 takes its global game servers offline for scheduled maintenance on October 7, 2026. All regions enter downtime at the same moment, and most come back after three and a half hours, while Asia stays down longer.

Quick answer: Maintenance begins at 6:30 AM UTC. NA East, NA West, Europe, and Latin America are expected back at 10:00 AM UTC; Asia is expected back at 12:00 PM UTC.

AION 2 October 7 maintenance schedule by region

Every global server starts maintenance at the same time. The difference is the end time: Asia has a longer window than the rest. The downtime is laid out in the official AION 2 Steam notice.

RegionWindow (UTC)Duration
NA East6:30 AM – 10:00 AM3 hours 30 minutes
NA West6:30 AM – 10:00 AM3 hours 30 minutes
Europe6:30 AM – 10:00 AM3 hours 30 minutes
Latin America6:30 AM – 10:00 AM3 hours 30 minutes
Asia6:30 AM – 12:00 PM5 hours 30 minutes

In local time, the start corresponds to 2:30 AM EDT and 8:30 AM CEST. EU, NA, and LATAM players can expect servers to reopen around 6:00 AM EDT, 10:00 AM UTC, 12:00 PM CEST, and 7:00 PM JST/KST. Asia players should look for access roughly two hours later than those times.

The schedule can change. If a region is still offline after its listed end time, that usually points to an extension rather than a problem on your end.

What happens when maintenance begins

Logging in is blocked for the full window. Anyone already in the game is disconnected the moment maintenance starts at 6:30 AM UTC, so there is no grace period to finish what you are doing.

If you try to connect during the window, the client shows the message The server is currently under maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience. with a Confirm button, then returns you to the login screen. Seeing that prompt is expected behavior during the downtime, not a sign of a broken install.

Steam or PURPLE may work as usual even when AION 2’s servers are unavailable; launcher status and game-server status are separate.

Why AION 2 is going down and what the update includes

This is the first weekly scheduled maintenance since the September 30 Advanced Access start. It carries a game update, but the full contents of that update have not been detailed yet. The AION 2 team has said those notes will be shared later.

Until the patch notes are published, treat the maintenance as a weekly reset plus an undisclosed update rather than a specific set of balance or content changes. There is no confirmed list of adjustments to plan around.

How to confirm the servers are back

You know maintenance is over when the login flow stops returning the maintenance message and lets you reach the server selection screen and your character list. If a server is at capacity, you may still land in a login queue, which is a separate state from maintenance and clears as space opens.

If your region’s end time passes and you still cannot get in, check the official maintenance notice for an extension before troubleshooting your own setup. Restarting the launcher and installing any client update released after the window are the right first steps; a queue is not a reason to reinstall.
