The latest AION 2 update landed on October 7, 2026, and it mostly rewards players who grind mobs for crafting materials. Raw Leather now drops at a higher rate across a large chunk of the early zones, a fresh weapon skin chest shows up for collectors, and a handful of titles have been quietly renamed.

Quick answer: This update raised Raw Leather drop chances on 128 creatures in Verteron and Altgard, added the Eternal Sun Weapon Skin Chest (8 Pieces), and renamed four titles. Nothing else in drop tables, gear, skills, quests or dungeons changed.

Raw Leather drop rate increase in Verteron and Altgard

Raw Leather is easier to farm now. The drop chance went up on 128 creatures in the global version, with monsters in Verteron, Altgard and the Chaotic Lower Reshanta zone all seeing better numbers. The increase is not uniform — it depends on which tier a given creature sat in before the change.

Creatures affectedBeforeAfter
903.9%5.8%
180.97%1.5%
81.9%2.9%
74.7%6.1%
43.5%4.5%
111.7%15.2%

The largest single jump, from 11.7% to 15.2%, applies to one creature. Most of the affected mobs sit in the biggest group, moving from 3.9% to 5.8%. If you have a leather-farming route, these are the kinds of enemies you’ll be hitting along the way:

  • Red Shell Mole — Altgard: Dredgion Crash Site (132 spawn points)
  • Young Tog — Altgard: Battlescar Mound, Silent Hill, Sanctum Outpost, Fang Hideout (118 spawn points)
  • Giant Ore Insectoid — Altgard: Fafnite Deposit (115 spawn points)
  • Modified Lupyllini — Altgard: Immortal Isle (71 spawn points)
  • Vampire Vivel — Altgard: Nameless Cemetery (71 spawn points)
  • Aberrant Tog — Altgard: Battlescar Mound, Purifying Forest (69 spawn points)
  • Decomposed Lupyllini — Altgard: Battlescar Mound, Dredgion Crash Site, Tranein Highland, Moslan Forest (67 spawn points)

At the 5.8% rate, the Contaminated Swarm Egg and the Giant Ore Insectoid Adult are typical examples of what you’ll see in the updated tables. Both still drop their usual Refining Stone and gear alongside the leather, so the better chance stacks on top of everything else those mobs already give.

Eternal Sun Weapon Skin Chest (8 Pieces)

The Eternal Sun Weapon Skin Chest (8 Pieces) (Bound) is a newly added usable item of Special grade. Open it for a single pull containing one copy of each Eternal Sun weapon skin, with all eight weapon types included rather than skins divided by class.

The chest holds skins for Greatsword and Longsword, then Dagger and Bow, Spellbook and Orb, and Mace and Staff. Each is tier t1, has a level 1 requirement, and goes into your Closet when used. The chest is untradeable and stacks to 999.

Each individual skin inside is also bound and cannot be traded. After you open a skin, it shows up in the Closet for you to apply.

Four titles renamed

Four titles carry new names after the update. Nothing about what they do changed — only the labels. These are the old names and the new ones:

  • Old names: At Your Own Pace, Keen Eye, Steps on the Journey, Twinkling Eyes
  • New names: Eagle Eye, Eyes Wide Open, Journey’s Path, Step by Step

If a title in your collection reads differently than it used to, this is why. The stats and conditions attached to each one are untouched.

What else changed

Beyond the leather rates, the new chest and the title names, 14 item descriptions were reworded. The wording is different, but the items behave exactly as they did before. Drop tables, gear stats, skills, quests and dungeons are otherwise unchanged from the previous build.
