Every collectible location, the Key-to-Scythe requirement, and the Collection Book rewards you unlock along the way.

There are 29 Lost Items hidden across the map in Storage Hunters: Open World, and none of them come from bidding on lockers. You collect them by exploring specific spots on rooftops, under bridges, inside water, and behind buildings. Finding them pays out cash, adds a permanent Luck boost through the Lost Collection, and fills out your Collection Book.

Quick answer: Grab the Key from under the bridge past Back Alley first and favorite it, because you need it equipped in-hand to open the Lost Item Garage for the Scythe. Everything else is a straight collection run across the Junk Yard, Back Alley, Shopping Mall, Sunset View Farm, and Ship Yard.

How Lost Items work

Lost Items sit out in the open world and give off a faint glow or shimmer, so you can usually spot one before you reach it. Each item can only be collected once per account. Once you pick it up, it is gone from the map for that character.

You also need to have unlocked an area before you can grab the items inside it. The Junk Yard is open from the start, while the Back Alley, Farmyard, and Ship Yard open as your net worth climbs. Lost Items never receive mutations, but you can still grade them to raise their sale value.

Get the Key before anything else

The Key is the only Lost Item that gates another one, so pick it up early and do not sell it. Travel to the Back Alley and follow the road past the auction area to the edge of the map, then drop under the bridge to grab it. Unload the Key at your shop and favorite it so it stays safe.

The Key sits under the bridge past Back Alley.

If you sell the Key by mistake, it respawns after roughly 12 hours, so you can wait it out rather than losing progress permanently.

Open the Lost Item Garage for the Scythe

Head back to the Back Alley with the Key in your inventory.
Equip the Key and hold it in your hand, then use it on the Lost Item Garage to unlock the door.
Step inside and look in the left corner to collect the Scythe.

Junk Yard and Shopping Mall items

The Junk Yard is open to every player, so it is the easiest cluster to clear early. The Bluetooth Speaker is inside the security booth near the parking lot entrance, and a smaller character model fits through the gap more easily.

The Watering Can hides behind a pile of scrap metal and tires at the large red building. Climb that same red building’s roof using the nearby walls and ladder to grab the Camera on top.

Inside the Shopping Mall, the Professional Camera is on the second shelf behind the Quick Sell counter. The Book is easy to overlook, sitting in a purple park tunnel above the red slide once you continue past the mall.

The Book is tucked inside the purple park tunnel.

The Digital Alarm Clock is the trickiest of this group. Enter the Grading Shop inside the mall, walk through the hidden doorway beside the Grade NPC, and keep moving forward until you reach it. The LED Flashlight sits in a dumpster in the alley near the Junk Yard billboard, and you need to stand close to the dumpster for the pickup prompt to register.

Dealership, garage, and house items

Several of these pickups sit on rooftops or containers, so bring a vehicle to use as a climbing boost and park it nearby before you start jumping.

The Acoustic Guitar is on the roof of the small building at the Car Dealership beside the Junk Yard. The Bonsai Plant is far simpler, resting on the front porch of the yellow-and-white house near the dealership.

The Leather Backpack sits on top of the shipping containers beside the Car Garage entrance, and you will need your vehicle to reach it. Note that the Leather Backpack doubles as a wearable Accessory, so check its buffs and debuffs before deciding whether to equip or sell it.

Water tower, pink building, and Ship Yard items

The Typewriter is at the top of the water tower near the containers, and you should climb the support beams from the right side to reach it.

Nearby, the Lava Lamp is on the roof of the small pink building. Use your vehicle to jump onto the roof and grab it.

The Ship Yard holds the highest-value cluster. Climb the ladder onto the large tanker for the Jade Bracelet, then park near the green containers by Steve and climb them to collect the Flip Cellphone.

Move toward the Cargo Ship and drop to the beach beside it for the Marble Vase. Enter the ship over the bridge, head to the left side, and find the Classic Phone inside the cabin.

Farm, Lake, and beach items

At Sunset View Farm, the Needle hides among the crop fields, so zoom your camera out or use first-person to see it past the tall stalks. Climb the ladder on the tower beside the barn for the Branding Iron at the top. The Cow Bell is behind the unfinished building across from the farm entrance.

The Trailer Store area covers two more. The Cow Milker is behind the store itself, and the Saddle rests at the base of a tree near the nearby yellow house. The Saddle carries the highest value of all the Lost Items.

Two pickups sit at the Lake. The Horseshoe is at the base of a tree on the opposite shore, and the Painting is underwater at the bottom of the Lake, so jump in and search below the surface. Finish the beach with the Butter Churn, found inside the second shed along the shoreline.

Collection Book rewards

Completing the Lost Collection pays out in tiers, so partial progress still gives you something useful. The permanent Luck boost at 15 items is the standout reward for early-game players.

Beyond the Collection Book milestones, selling every Lost Item adds up to roughly $519.99, and grading them raises that total. If you would rather not sell, the items also work as store decorations, and the Leather Backpack stays useful as an Accessory.

You will know a pickup worked when the item lands in your inventory and the Collection Book updates its count. Since each item is one-time per account, focus your runs on areas you have already unlocked, and circle back to earlier zones for anything you skipped.
