Chapter 4 of Halloween: The Game, The Babysitters, is the only story stage that carries three tapes instead of two. They fill out collectibles 9, 10, and 11 of 14, and two of them sit behind doors that the chapter opens and closes on its own schedule. Grab them in the wrong order and you are replaying the whole chapter.
Quick answer: Take Loomis Log #10 from the optional house across the street before you trigger the Wallace House cutscene, take Loomis Log #7 off the dryer in the detached laundry room right after you kill Annie and get the objective to hide her body upstairs, then take Sheriff Brackett’s Recording off the dining table once Laurie’s chase unlocks her front door.
Chapter 4 collectible checklist
All three appear as yellow cassette tapes with a pickup prompt, and all three sit indoors. The counter runs 9/14 through 11/14 across the chapter.
| Collectible | Exact spot | Safe window |
|---|---|---|
| Loomis Log #10 (9/14) | Side table under the macramé wall hanging, first room on the left inside house 1542 | Any time — optional explorable area, never locked |
| Loomis Log #7 (11/14) | On the dryer inside the detached laundry room behind the Wallace garage | After Annie’s death, while hiding her body upstairs |
| Sheriff Brackett’s Recording (10/14) | Dining table on the right of the lower floor in the house Laurie runs to | Only during the Laurie chase at the end of the chapter |
What locks you out of the Chapter 4 tapes
Two of the three are gated by story state rather than by difficulty. The laundry room is part of Annie’s routine, so she can walk in on you while you are standing at the dryer, and the dog on the Wallace property will alert her if it spots you first. The house at the end of the chase is sealed for the entire chapter until Laurie actually runs to it, so there is no way to bank that tape early.
The chapter also ends on a fixed beat. Once Laurie is dealt with and the man from the prologue appears, the stage resolves and anything left behind stays uncollected until you replay it.
Loomis Log #10: The optional house across from the Wallace House
This is the only free one. The chapter opens with the objective to go to the Wallace House plus an optional prompt to explore the area, and the surrounding residences are marked on the map while that objective is live.

Loomis Log #7: The Wallace laundry room
The Wallace property has a detached laundry room behind the garage in the back yard, reached from the rear of the house on the southern edge of the map. The tape sits on top of the dryer. There are three openings to get in, and only one of them carries no risk.
Note: if you would rather grab it earlier, two other windows exist. You can head straight there as the level begins, before Annie settles into that area, or you can slip in from the left side of the house after the second Annie cutscene once she has crossed to the car and gone inside through the front door. Both work, but both can end with her walking in on you.
Sheriff Brackett’s Recording: The dining table during the Laurie chase
The last tape is in the house on the south-east side of the map, and it only becomes reachable at the very end of the chapter. When the objective changes to killing Laurie before she can call for help, she breaks away from the Wallace House and runs home.

How to confirm each tape registered
Every successful pickup throws a short on-screen confirmation naming the item, such as “Picked Up Loomis Log #10”. If you see the prompt but no confirmation, you interacted with a nearby object instead of the tape — reposition and try again.
The running total is the other check. Leaving Chapter 4 with 11 of 14 collectibles means all three are banked; anything lower means one of the timed rooms closed before you got in. There is no in-chapter way to reopen either of those rooms, so a replay of The Babysitters is the fix.

If you are also chasing the chapter’s six challenges, the collectible route slots in cleanly around them. The optional house is a start-of-level detour, the laundry room fits inside the body-hiding objective, and the dining table is a few seconds out of your way once Laurie is already running.
