Aniimo Legendary Held Items Drop Rates by Player Title (Alpha Bosses)

Alpha bosses cannot drop a Legendary Held Item below Wayfarer III, and even after that the odds of getting one specific item are slim.

Alpha bosses cannot drop a Legendary Held Item below Wayfarer III, and even after that the odds of getting one specific item are slim.

Aniimo now shows players the real drop odds for Alpha Held Items, and they change a lot of farming plans. Your player title decides which rarities can drop at all. Before a certain rank, no number of Alpha kills will ever produce a Legendary Held Item. Even past that rank, the chance at any one specific Legendary is small.

Quick answer: Legendary Held Items drop from Alphas only at Wayfarer III or higher, with a 20% Legendary chance. Each boss’s pool holds three Legendaries, so any one item is about 6.67% per claim.

Alpha Held Item drop chances by player title

The odds sit in a table called “Alpha Held Items Drop Chance Details.” It splits the player titles into three bands. Each band has a fixed spread across Rare, Epic, and Legendary Held Items. Within a band the numbers stay the same, so moving from Student I to Student II changes nothing.

Player titleRareEpicLegendary
Special Rookie, Student I, Student II100%0%0%
Student III, Wayfarer I, Wayfarer II75%25%0%
Wayfarer III, Trailblazer I0%80%20%

The table makes the cutoff very clear. Six titles carry a flat 0% Legendary chance. Wayfarer III is the first title where a Legendary can drop at all. That same step also removes Rare items from the random roll entirely. From Wayfarer III onward, every Alpha Held Item drop is either Epic or Legendary.

The middle band is easy to misread. Student III through Wayfarer II adds a 25% Epic chance, but the Legendary chance is still zero. Spending Primegy on Alphas in that band can build up Rare and Epic stock. It cannot produce a Legendary.

In the footage, the player fights several Alphas and catches some of them after each fight. The catch attempt is a separate step from the held item reward. The drop odds above come only from your title.

Why one specific Legendary is a 6.67% roll

The 20% figure is the chance of getting a Legendary. It is not the chance of getting the one you want. Each Alpha boss has three different Legendary Held Items in its reward pool. That splits the 20% three ways, so your target item has about a 6.67% chance on any single claim.

The cost of each attempt is easy to work out. Claiming an Alpha challenge reward costs 30 Primegy, and the energy bar in the footage caps at 600. At a 1-in-15 chance for one specific item, the average comes to 15 claims, or 450 Primegy, for a single targeted Legendary. That is an average, not a guarantee. Bad luck can push the real number far higher, which explains why some players report dozens of runs at the same boss.

The odds for catching an Alpha work on a completely separate system. In the footage, the catch screen for Lv. 60 Alpha Minespine shows a capture chance in single digits, and the attempt fails. That result has no effect on the held item roll.

Where each Alpha’s held item pool is listed

Each boss’s three-item pool is listed in the Institute Guide. Open it with F4, then go to Aniimo Challenge, then Alpha Challenge Held Item. Each Alpha there shows its held item rewards. The same category holds sibling tabs for Evolution Material, Resonance Star-Up Material, and Capability Awakening Materials. The menu in the footage includes Spirited Feather, Fission Needles, and Echoing Grimoire, among others. Bosses seen in the list include Alpha Irisal, Alpha Minespine, Alpha Grizbo, Alpha Ignitis, Alpha Geoclaw, Alpha Stellarys, Alpha Scorchhowl, and Alpha Panpanta.

Check which boss holds your target item before you spend any Primegy. Farming the wrong Alpha gives you a 0% chance at that item, not 6.67%.

Legendary Held Items in the Held Item shop (250 Paw Coin)

Alphas are not the only way to get a Legendary. In the game, Legendary is the Gold-quality tier of held item, and it improves the abilities of the Aniimo that equips it. Fifteen Legendary Held Items are listed in the Held Item shop at 250 Paw Coin each. Every one of them can also drop from Alphas and from chests found while exploring Idyll.

Giant Tortoise Shell and Heartseeker Pendant each have Rare, Epic, and Legendary versions. All three versions come from the same sources: defeating Alphas and opening chests in Idyll.

Vanguard’s Whistle and Capacitous Battery both appear in the 250 Paw Coin lineup. They also have Rare versions that drop from Alphas and chests.

Rekindling Feather is not in the 250 Paw Coin shop list. It is listed as a Rare Held Item that drops from Alphas and from chests in Idyll.

Common Held Item Core rewards from player levels 35 to 40

Player leveling also feeds the held item system, though not with Legendaries. Each level-up from 35 through 40 grants 10 Common Held Item Core, for 50 in total across that stretch. These are the level-ups that matter while you are still working toward the Wayfarer III title cutoff.

Level-upEXP neededTotal EXPHeld item reward
35 to 363,25032,82510 Common Held Item Core
36 to 373,60036,42510 Common Held Item Core

38 to 394,30044,67510 Common Held Item Core
39 to 404,70049,37510 Common Held Item Core

Each of these level-ups also pays out Credits. Levels 35 to 39 give 10,000 each, and the step from 39 to 40 gives 100,000 along with 2 Primegy Battery and 6 Light Stone. Every level in this range also raises your catch and command cap by one.

Story and quest rewards hand out some Legendaries outside the Alpha system. Once your RV reaches 16, three Aniimo sent on a 20-hour camp trip can each bring back a random Legendary Held Item. Duplicates are still useful, because you can convert them into EXP to level another held item toward level 15. The Alpha rule itself does not bend, though. Below Wayfarer III the Legendary chance is zero, and above it every claim is a 1-in-15 shot at the item you actually want.
