Aniimo: Rainstorm Luminelle Location and How to Catch It

The weather-locked jellyfish only appears in one coastal cave, and there is exactly one shot per storm.

The weather-locked jellyfish only appears in one coastal cave, and there is exactly one shot per storm.

Rainstorm Luminelle is a weather-locked form of the floating jellyfish Aniimo Luminelle. It never roams the open map and it cannot be evolved into. Instead, it sits inside a single cave on Tideblossom Coast, and it only shows up while a storm is running. Once you have caught one, you can also turn spare Luminelle into the Rainstorm form at will.

Quick answer: When rain or a thunderstorm arrives, travel to the cave at -0116, 0051 on the small island south of Tidebound Grotto in Tideblossom Coast, then catch the Luminelle drifting inside.

Weather trigger: rain or thunderstorm only

Rainstorm Luminelle has its own spawn table, separate from the standard form. It can appear during rain or thunderstorms, but disappears as soon as the weather clears. Clear skies and nighttime won’t bring it out; night instead spawns the basic Luminelle.

You can wait for Tideblossom Coast’s weather to change, or join a friend’s world while a storm is underway. After rain begins, check your map before leaving. The marked spawn location means you won’t have to scour the shore on foot as the storm timer ticks away.

Each storm cycle produces just one Rainstorm Luminelle, with no second spawn during that storm. Catch it or frighten it away, and you’ll need to wait for another storm in Tideblossom Coast to find one again.

Rainstorm Luminelle location on Tideblossom Coast

The cave sits on a small island off Tideblossom Coast, just south of Tidebound Grotto, inside the Breezy Plains stretch of the map. The entrance is a dark opening at the base of a large rock formation, reached by following the shore around the island. Jack-o-Blossom Glade and the Sea of Flowers are the nearest labels if you are lining yourself up from a distance.

There is a second route to the same spot. From the Nurture Bloom in Tideblossom Coast you can enter a circular tunnel in the mountainside to the east, burning the vines that block the passage with a Fire-type Aniimo until you come out the other side. Both the shoreline approach and the tunnel lead to the same cave exit where the creature floats.

How to catch Rainstorm Luminelle

Wait for rain or a thunderstorm to begin. Before traveling, check your map for the Luminelle spawn marker near the coast.
Ride or fast travel to Tideblossom Coast, then make for the island below Tidebound Grotto. The map readout should show about -0116, 0051.
Circle the rock formation along the shore until you find its shadowed cave entrance, then enter. The creature remains inside, so searching the exposed beach isn’t necessary.
Sneak up behind the glowing blue jellyfish without drawing its attention. Once you’re in position, the throw prompt displays the x1.5 Backstab bonus, increasing your capture chance.

Use a capture item. Against a level 54 Luminelle, an Anipod Mega thrown with the backstab bonus had a 57 percent chance of success; a Sparkling Cube guarantees the catch. Since each storm provides only one spawn, spend your strongest available item instead of wearing it down with basic Anipods.

Confirm the catch registered

A successful capture immediately gives you capture EXP. Luminelle’s Aniilog records Rainstorm as entry No. 79B, alongside the basic form (No. 79A) and the Prismana form (No. 79C). Open Field Notes and select Luminelle’s page; the Rainstorm slot should display its complete profile, stats, and description rather than a locked silhouette.

The first entry has to come from a direct catch. Bulbly and Veilfloat cannot evolve into Rainstorm Luminelle, making the cave encounter the only way to fill the slot initially.

Turn a spare Luminelle into the Rainstorm form with a Morph Orb

Once the Rainstorm form is registered in your Aniilog, you no longer need to hunt storms for more. You can convert any regular Luminelle you own into a fresh Rainstorm Luminelle using a Morph Orb, and the new form keeps the exact same stats and investment as the one you started with.

Open the Aniimo Management tab and select the Luminelle you want to change.
Open the third tab in the context menu, marked with an exclamation mark, and choose “Change Form.” Confirm the selection to receive the Rainstorm version.

Morph Orbs come from the Glimmer Shop, found under Shop → Items → Glimmer. You can buy 10 Morph Orbs per week, each costing 300 Glimmer.

Rainstorm Luminelle type, trait, and skills

Unlike the basic form, which is pure Lightning, the Rainstorm variant is a dual Lightning and Water Aniimo. It is a Nova stage creature in the Support role, leaning toward healing, and it pairs naturally with Lightning and Water teammates.

The Arc Surge trait gives teammates affected by its skill buff 12 percent extra Lightning damage for 20 seconds. Glow, its mobility skill, illuminates the space overhead—a useful ability in the dark caves where you found it.

Combat and innate skills

  • Water Rush — sustained water jet that damages enemies, drains Energy, and heals Water allies.
  • Lightning Discharge — Maintain a beam that hits enemies and restores Lightning teammates’ HP at 2% per second.
  • Healing Impact — Keep the beam active to heal allies within range for 2% HP per second; after 3s, it clears Luminelle’s own debuffs.
  • Swift Retreat — It dashes backward, leaving a jellyfish decoy that reduces targets’ speed by 15% for 10s.
  • Lightning Surge — recharges allies, raising Lightning teammates’ basic attack damage by 27% and BREAK efficiency by 16% for 20s.
  • Self-Destruction — Its ultimate builds voltage before releasing a broad electric blast, boosting Lightning damage in the field by 20% for 30s.

Filling out Luminelle’s full variant set is worth the effort beyond bragging rights, since completing a creature’s form collection grants a small stat bonus on its Aniilog entry. With the Rainstorm form logged, the storm hunt only ever needs to happen once.
