Whisperwake Isles is a tropical island region for Aniimo, built around giant floating bubbles used to drift between landmasses and reach high ground. It was playable during the game’s closed beta, which showed off its coastline at Crescent Bay, a central bubble dome, and a group of new creatures that are not in the launch regions. Everything shown ran on beta code, so spawns, stats, and mechanics can still shift before it goes live.
Quick answer: Whisperwake Isles is a beta-tested island region centered on bubble traversal and a new creature set. No official release date for the region by name is currently confirmed.
What Whisperwake Isles is
The region swaps the grassy look of the launch map for a bright tropical setting: sandy beaches, palm trees, shallow turquoise water, and coral. Crescent Bay sits at the heart of it, and the island runs on its own day and night cycle with rainstorms that change how some creatures appear. A large energy barrier and a central bubble dome mark the middle of the map, with ruins sitting on the higher ground above the coast.

Whisperwake Isles also runs separate local systems. It has its own stamina gauges for sprinting and gliding, tied to local infusion upgrades, so progress you make here is tracked apart from the mainland. First-time arrival is handled through a “First Visit to Whisperwake Isles” event with Island Survey and Field Note research objectives.

Add to Google Preferences →Bubble Drift traversal
Getting around the island depends on Bubble Drift, which surrounds you with a spacious airborne sphere. It lets you hover and travel through the air to places you could not reach otherwise, such as ledges, hidden pockets, and the space beyond the barrier dome. Use it to cross the dome in the island’s center and ascend to the cliffside ruins.
The traversal bubbles come from Bubbeep, a creature focused on support and movement, listed as No. 088 at its Lumin Stage. Its description says it eats algae foliage and shapes bubbles into a modest shelter, explaining in-world how it makes bubbles for traversal. Its abilities include Bubble Drift, along with Pop, Heal, and Shield.

The new Aniimo on the island
Whisperwake Isles brings its own creature set, listed in an official exclusion notice as Cheekie, Wavwal, Reefish, Coraliz, Popapus, Gachapus, Bubbeep, Glameep, Malangel, and Malevsera. The beta showcase went deepest on five of them, covering their typings and combat kits.

Glameep and Prismana Glameep
Glameep is a deer-like forest Aniimo with Grass/Water typing. Its special Prismana form changes to Grass/Dark and has a crystalline coat and crown. An Omega version appears as a world encounter on the island; look for a glowing rift in a hollow tree at the center of a lake.

Coralus
Coralus (No. 072) is an Earth/Water support creature whose Reinsoul form becomes pure Earth. It restores EP for the team based on how many Earth Aniimo are in the party, drops coral traps that apply Earth debuffs, and can inflict Imprisonment to lock enemies down.

Popapus and Gachapus
A Water DPS octopus, Popapus—also known as Gachapus—uses a chance-based reel system in combat. Its attacks and skills produce colored bubbles: orange deals area damage, blue restores EP, and purple increases damage. Get five bubbles of the same color in one roll, or the rare 1% gold bubble, to activate Jackpot for 10 seconds; it supplies rainbow bubbles and raises basic attack damage by 60%. The ultimate can activate Jackpot whenever you want.
Malangel and Malevsera
Malangel’s Nova Stage evolution is Malevsera, an Ice DPS creature whose damage potential comes with a health cost. The Bloodthirst passive can increase damage by up to 40% as HP declines. Skills cost no EP during Demonic State, but each cast drains current HP. When the transformation ends, Malevsera heals based on the total damage dealt while it was active.
These kits and numbers come from beta play. Balance, typings, and spawn locations can change before the region is released.
Breezy Plains reference for current players
Until the island opens, Breezy Plains is the region you explore, and its contrast with the tropical setting is exactly what the beta footage played up. Two of its areas, Echoback Landing and Beast Fang Ridge, carry clear figures for level ranges and collectibles that are worth having on hand while you work through the mainland.
| Collectible | Echoback Landing | Beast Fang Ridge |
|---|---|---|
| Level range | 34–40 | 30–35 |
| Blooms | 3 | 3 |
| Chests | 28 | 62 |
| Bonfires | 2 | 2 |
| 5 | 9 | |
| Ecological points | 5 | 2 |
| Lumin collections | 3 | 3 |
| Pathfinder challenges | 3 | 9 |
Beast Fang Ridge is the denser of the two for raw rewards, with 62 chests and 9 Pathfinder challenges across a 30–35 level band. Echoback Landing sits at a higher level range and leans toward ecological points instead of chest count.
Release status
A season lasts 84 days, arranged as two 42-day periods, and the developer intends to introduce a new explorable region each season. The next confirmed opening is three islands within the second region. A separate water region containing five islands and one undisclosed area is confirmed for a later time. No dates have been given for any of these.
The launch client holds a locked New Region tile labelled “Unlocks on 10/29,” which lands on 29 October 2026, the same day Part One of Season 1 closes. That tile does not name which region it unlocks, so there is no confirmation that it is Whisperwake Isles. Its artwork is a beach with coral and a starfish creature, which points toward a tropical area, but that remains a hint rather than an announcement. For now, the island itself has no officially confirmed release date by name.
