Anime Squadron Beginner Progression: Perks, Farming, and First Teams

A clear early-game route for the Roblox lane battler, covering Yen perks, resource farming, and starter squads.

A clear early-game route for the Roblox lane battler, covering Yen perks, resource farming, and starter squads.

Anime Squadron drops you into a busy lobby with Story stages, Squadron maps, Raids, an Infinite challenge, Gear, Traits, and Secret units all competing for attention. The fastest way to avoid early walls is to fix your economy first, build one strong carry, and clear content in dependency order instead of rushing the hardest stages.

Quick answer: Redeem every active code, raise Maximum Yen Capacity and Yen Generation to Level 5, summon until you own at least one Mythic and one Legendary, then clear all Story stages on Normal and Hard before touching Raids or Infinite Mode.

You launch the game from its official Roblox page, and codes are redeemed inside the lobby through the Codes button on the left menu.

Fix your Yen perks before anything else

Yen is the in-match currency you spend to place and upgrade units. Two perks control it, and both matter far more early on than base survivability. Open the Perks menu from the button on the left side of the lobby to find them.

Maximum Yen Capacity starts capped at 500, which is too low to deploy expensive Mythic units when a match begins. Yen Generation controls how fast you earn Yen per second. Raise both to Level 5 and then leave them until late game.

PerkWhat it doesEarly target
Maximum Yen CapacityRaises the Yen cap (500 at the start, 2.5K at Level 5)Level 5
Yen GenerationIncreases Yen earned per second during a matchLevel 5
Base HealthIncreases how much your base can absorbSkip early

Skip Base Health upgrades for now. If your units kill enemies before they reach the base, base HP rarely matters, so Yen perks give a much better return on Gold.

Farm Gold fast in Anime Squadron

Gold pays for perk upgrades and unit leveling, and it becomes a real bottleneck as you progress. A few reliable sources keep it flowing.

  • Redeem active codes for an instant Gold boost before you spend any time grinding.
  • Open your Units inventory, switch to Sell Mode, and sell low-rarity units and high-rarity duplicates. Auto-selling Rare, Epic, and duplicate Legendaries keeps a steady income.
  • Claim Discovery rewards from the Discovery NPC near the Summon building. Every newly summoned unit adds Gold, and higher-rarity units pay more.
  • Clear the Daily Challenge in the Play section for large Gold payouts, but note it refreshes every 24 hours.
  • Run the GT City Squadron map. It is the shortest and easiest map to repeat, which gives the best Gold per minute.

Once you reach Level 15 and unlock Raids, you can also buy Gold with Omega Coins in the Raid Shop. The AFK World quietly generates Gold, Gems, and more while you are away.

Farm Gems for your first Legendary and Mythic

Gems fund your summons, so building a healthy supply early decides how quickly you land that first carry. Spread your effort across the high-value sources below.

Find the Beginner Missions button under the Perks and Profile buttons in the lobby. Also claim Daily Login and free Game Pass rewards, and park in the AFK World when you are not actively playing, since both add Gems over time.

Farm Trait Shards for unit traits

Trait Shards let you roll and reroll Traits on your units, which is where a lot of a unit’s real power comes from. A few sources keep a steady supply.

  • Redeem codes for a free starting stock, usually enough to add traits to your first Mythic or Legendary.
  • Clear the Daily Challenge for a larger amount of Trait Rerolls, though it is harder to finish.
  • Repeat the Katakara Bridge, a permanent challenge you can run multiple times for shards.
  • Buy Trait Rerolls from the Raid Shop after unlocking Raids at Level 15.

Note: Roll traits before you evolve a unit. Evolving currently resets pity progress, so locking in a strong trait such as Superior or Cloner on the base form first avoids wasted resources.

Farm Player XP to unlock features

Player level gates several systems, including the Selection Banner at Level 10 and Raids at Level 15. Leveling quickly opens those features sooner.

Raids (Hard)+35 per clear

Beginner Missions also hand out a large amount of XP alongside Gems and Trait Shards, so finish them early. For passive leveling, build a team of your fastest units and set GT City Act 1 on Auto Replay to farm XP while idle.

Best beginner teams for Story clears

Your goal in the first hours is clearing Story on Normal and Hard. The core idea behind a working starter squad is simple. Bring one high-DPS carry, one or two fast units that reach the enemy base quickly, and an economy unit so you can afford everything.

Team 1Team 2
Karashi, Vegata/Goki, FastwagonBig Beard, Mamosa, Rudaus, Choi
Karashi’s movement speed reaches the base fast (aim for the Rebirth Trait, but it works without it). Vegata or Goki does the damage with a Superior or Cloner Trait. Fastwagon handles Yen, ideally with the Entrepreneur Trait.Big Beard is the main tank and damage dealer; Superior, Rebirth, or Cloner makes him very strong. Mamosa and Rudaus support by restoring his HP and cutting cooldowns. Get Yen Cap and Yen Generation to Level 4 to run this team.

Speed is the recurring theme across strong early lineups. Fast carries such as Kakashi or Karashi clear waves quickly, and faster clears mean faster farming for every other resource. Fastwagon belongs in nearly every squad because its passive Gold generation compounds across every run.

Early progression order that avoids walls

Most players who get stuck are trying to rush Secret stages, Raids, or Infinite Mode before their roster can handle them. Following the dependency order below builds a strong account naturally.

Redeem all active codes from the Codes button to collect starting Gold, Gems, and Trait Shards.
Raise Yen Capacity and Yen Generation, and leave Base Health alone for now.
Summon until you hold at least one Mythic and one Legendary. The first Mythic is guaranteed within 50 pulls, so do not panic if it takes a while.
Clear every Story stage on both Normal and Hard, then repeat the clears two or three times for crafting materials.
After Story, work through Squadron stages on both difficulties, then start Daily Challenges and Regular Challenges once you reach Level 10 and unlock more unit slots.
Evolve at least two Mythic units and craft higher-rarity Gear before pushing Secret stages, Raids, and the Katakara Bridge Infinite Challenge.

To equip Gear, open Units, select a unit, open Details, and equip the piece. Do not chase perfect builds early. Simply getting decent Gear onto your team is the real challenge at the start.

Tip: Stop running across the lobby manually. Click the area markers on screen, such as Play, Summon, Upgrade, and Raids, to teleport straight to each location.

Secret units worth targeting

Once your account is strong enough, two Secret units become major goals. Madara comes from Ninja Village Chapter 4 and is one of the strongest early-progression carries. Ultimate Evil drops from Raid stages and serves as a long-term endgame target alongside the materials Raids provide. The Forest Raid is especially useful because it rewards a Secret unit and upgrade materials at the same time.

Before attempting Secret stages or harder Raids, make sure you have at least two evolved Mythic units. The Forest Secret stage packs enemies with very large HP pools, and Raid maps add multiple lanes that overwhelm weak teams. Save Infinite Mode for the end of your session, since its Gacha Bags scale with how far you push, and a stronger team earns far more True Rolls, Star Cubes, and upgrade materials.

Build one step at a time and your roster fills out on its own. Clear Story, finish Squadron, evolve your Mythics, farm Madara, then move into Raids and Infinite Mode. Prioritize fast-clearing units throughout, because the quicker you finish content, the quicker every other grind in the game pays off.
