Dark-type Aniimo lean on resistance shredding, sleep control, and BREAK pressure more than raw survivability, so the strongest picks are the ones that either deal scaling damage or set up the rest of the team. A small group stands clearly above the rest, while several early creatures are only worth keeping until they evolve.

Quick answer: The best Dark Aniimo are Ignitis, Rookey, and Stellarys. They form the S tier and cover damage, BREAK, and magic damage between them.

Dark Aniimo ranked

The tiers reflect how well each creature performs in its role. S-tier picks perform very well in their job, A-tier picks shine inside Dark-focused teams or specific situations, and B-tier picks are early Lumin-stage forms that you should evolve as soon as you can.

S tier: the top Dark picks

Ignitis carries the second-highest base ATK among DPS Aniimo, which already puts it near the top for damage. Its kit stacks and holds Battle Fervor by defeating targets one after another, and every one of its combat skills scales its damage upward, so it keeps hitting harder the longer a fight runs.

Rookey is the team’s BREAK engine. Its Guardbreak Resonance trait gives an unconditional BREAK increase on top of an already high BREAK stat, and its Bouncy Sling skill raises the BREAK damage that struck enemies take. Because Bouncy Sling can hit several enemies at once, that BREAK amplification spreads across a whole pack.

Stellarys is the strongest magic-type DPS in the current meta. It plays as a battlemage through its Grand Sorcerer trait, which adds 5 Might to its basic attack damage each time it casts a skill. Most of its combat skills are offensive with scaling damage, while Shadow Magic gives it a utility option to fall back on during a fight.

A tier: Dark-team specialists

Dreaple is a solid Dark support built around crowd control. Its Counting Sheep trait can put a target to sleep, which lowers that target’s Dark resistance and stops it moving or casting. The trait only fires every 10 seconds, but a single instance is enough because Nimbi Attack and Hypnotic Cloud Shot together apply two stacks, letting you keep enemies asleep reliably. Dreaple can also heal allies with Nightmare Devour.

Fragrancier is the go-to early support for Dark teams. Its Dangerous Fragrance trait cuts a target’s Dark resistance by 7% whenever a skill deals damage, and its Fragrance Bomb innate skill raises the whole team’s Dark damage by 10%. Those two effects together keep it useful until you unlock a stronger Dark support.

Pawney is a DPS made for break-heavy teams. Its Pursuit trait and Ironclad Armament skill both add an extra 30% damage against BREAK targets, so it dumps huge damage into enemies that a breaker has already staggered.

B tier: evolve these first

The B-tier Dark Aniimo are Lumin stages or partial versions of stronger creatures. They work in a pinch, but each one has a clear evolution target that outclasses it.

Celestis has a decent 106 base ATK and uses the same Grand Sorcerer battlemage trait as Stellarys, adding 5 Might per skill cast. It falls short because it only has two combat skills, which heavily limits how much damage it can put out.

Wisptis has a high 108 base ATK for a Lumin stage and stacks Battle Fervor the same way Ignitis does, with scaling combat skills. It is playable, but evolving it into Ignitis is the better long-term move.

Helmut lacks Bouncy Sling but still benefits from Guardbreak Resonance, and its other skills can Stun enemies, which makes it a useful stopgap. Evolving it into Pawney or Rookey remains the stronger choice.

Dewy can fill in as a Dark support, but it is better to evolve it straight into Fragrancier.

Building a Dark team

A strong Dark lineup pairs a resistance-stacking carry with a breaker and two enablers. Rookey handles BREAK damage while Fragrancier drops enemy Dark resistance and heals the party. Hexxin applies a Curse debuff that feeds the team EP on basic attacks, and Stellarys converts all of that into Dark damage through its skills and attacks. Because Stellarys’ clone copies its actions, the buffs generated by Fragrancier and Hexxin’s debuffs are effectively doubled.

Lead with Rookey to break the target, keep Fragrancier and Hexxin cycling their debuffs, then swap to Stellarys so its clone amplifies every buff already on the field.
