Relics are the modifiers Rose equips to change how she fights and explores. You can equip up to three at a time, and because each one only helps when its condition is met, the gap between the best and the worst is wide. The ranking below sorts combat Relics by their effects, how often their conditions are met in a fight, and their drawbacks.
Quick answer: Use Witch’s Knot to make potions restore full health, Twilight Gem to boost damage after spells, and Obsidian Fang, Cursed Coin or Dark Sigil to match your playstyle. You can have three Relics equipped at a time.
How Relics work in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse
- “Up to 3 RELICS can be equipped to obtain BONUSES in combat and exploration.” Set them under EQUIPMENT > RELICS, or use HOLD TO EQUIP on the pickup card.
- Rose begins with three health potions; each one restores 40% of her maximum health. Rest at a Mirror of Life to replenish the supply.
- The game has neither shops nor currency. Find every Relic in a chest, at an altar or through a puzzle; consult the complete Relic locations rundown.
- To pair a weapon with your Relics, see the weapon tier list; for spell upgrades, see Works of Mercy and Gifts.
- The three Eyes (Thrilling Eye, Oozing Eye, Trembling Eye) carry no bonus. They only open the Circle of Greed door, so they are not ranked here.
Each placement accounts for the effect listed on the Relic, how regularly its trigger comes up in actual combat, and any penalty it imposes. This list uses the launch version 1.0 from October 2026; patches may alter card values.

S tier Relics

Witch’s Knot — “Healing potions restore 100% of Rose’s health.” Each potion now returns the whole bar instead of 40%, so three potions become three full heals between Mirrors of Life. No other Relic changes a fight this much, and it has no condition to meet. Found in West Hall, Library.

Twilight Gem — “After using a spell, Rose deals 30% more damage for 3 seconds.” The trigger is entirely in your hands: cast any spell, then swing. It also drops in the Central Sewer Drain, so you can run it from very early. To pick a cheap spell to cast, see every Arcana and its spell.

Family’s Grace — “When Rose takes damage with this locket equipped, the attack is blocked and all nearby enemies are frozen. Cooldown: 60 seconds.” A free blocked hit plus a crowd freeze every minute. This is a Midnight Edition bonus and sits in the Relics menu from the start for owners of that edition.
A tier Relics

Obsidian Fang — “Rose deals 45% more damage for 3 seconds after breaking an enemy’s guard.” This is the largest timed damage bonus on any Relic card. Found in the Guard Level.

Cursed Coin — “Rose deals 30% more damage for 3 seconds after parrying an enemy attack.” Strong if you parry with Holy Light often. Found in the Wine Cellar, Main Hall.

Sinister Rune — “Rose deals 40% more damage when she hits an enemy that has 100% of its health.” That extra damage lands on the opening hit of every fight, which makes it reliable against fresh enemies and new bosses. Found in the Eastern Access Shaft, Clock Tower.

Dark Sigil — “Rose’s defense is increased by 80% as long as she has 100% of her max health.” The biggest defence number in the game, but it switches off the moment you take a hit. Found in the Ruined Market.

Forsaken Ring — “Rose deals an additional 25% damage while at 100% of her maximum health.” It shares Dark Sigil’s full-health condition, so the two work well with a reliable heal. Found in the Antechamber of Sin, Catacombs of Paris.

Abyssal Eye — “Rose deals 35% more damage to controlled enemies.” Best alongside spells that pin enemies in place. Found in the Cemetery Entrance.

Eldritch Talisman — “Rose is invulnerable for 15 seconds after resting in a save room. The duration of invulnerability after taking damage is also doubled.” The second half applies in every fight, not just after a rest. Found in the East Gallery, Notre-Dame.

Haunting Relic — “Rose’s defense increases by 60% for 4 seconds after getting hit.” A defensive cushion that kicks in exactly when you need it. Found in the Hall of Mirrors.

Lich’s Mark — “Casting a spell less than 1.5 seconds after the previous one reduces its cost by 40%.” Built for spell-heavy play where you chain casts. Found in the hidden chamber of the Library.

Blood Vial — “Rose has an extra temporary healing vial after interacting with a save room.” One potion on top of the usual three after each Mirror of Life. Found in the Archives, Main Hall.
B tier Relics

Raven’s Feather — “Rose inflicts 25% more damage when fighting in the air.” Useful only while airborne. Found in the Mass Grave.

Vile Trinket — “Rose deals 25% more damage when striking enemies from behind.” Rewards positioning. Found in Daedalus Crossing, Clock Tower.

Necro Charm — “For 3 seconds, Rose deals 25% additional damage after killing an enemy.” Good in crowded rooms, but it does nothing in a one-on-one boss fight. Found in the Jaws of Limbo.

Witch’s Brew — “Rose deals 20% more damage per empty healing potion.” With the default three potions that climbs to 60% once all three are spent, which pulls against actually healing. Found in the Transept, Notre-Dame.

Beelzebub’s Seal — “Rose deals 30% more damage, but her maximum life is reduced by 50%.” A permanent damage boost paid for with half your health bar. Found in the Chapel of Patience, Notre-Dame.

Midnight Tear — “Rose suffers less damage as her mana decreases (up to -50% when she has no mana).” Rewards spending mana down rather than hoarding it. Found in the Library.

Pale Thorn — “Rose takes 60% less damage from the front but 100% more from the back.” Great while you face your attacker, punishing when you get surrounded. Found in the Hot Springs.

Infernal Medallion — “Rose’s mana cannot rise above 80% of her maximum, but the current spell cost is reduced by 10 mana points.” The flat saving matters most on cheap spells such as Freezing Path at 35 MP and Chains of Justice at 40 MP. Found in the Reliquary, Notre-Dame.

Nightshade — “Using a healing potion recovers 40% of maximum mana.” Turns a heal into a mana top-up as well. Found in the Pillaged Tombs.

Wraith’s Tear — “Rose heals 7% of her max health upon hitting an enemy that has hit her at least once. Only once per enemy, recharges upon being hit again.” Small, steady recovery during drawn-out fights. Found in the Study Room, Clock Tower.

Ebony Claw — “Breaking an enemy’s guard stuns them for 50% longer.” A longer opening after each guard break. Found in the Throat of Hell.

Crypt Key — “Fully restores Rose’s health and mana when she opens a chest.” Excellent while exploring, useless in a boss fight. Found in the Seer’s Hovel.

Grim Token — “Parrying an attack grants Rose 5 points of mana.” Feeds spells if you parry reliably. Found in the Crematorium, Main Hall.
C tier Relics
These Relics either only activate when Rose is near death or hand out very small amounts, so they ask you to play dangerously for a modest return.

Shadow Veil — “Rose’s defence is increased by 33% when her hit points are below 33%.” Found in the Burned District.

Specter’s Whisper — “Rose inflicts 30% extra damage as long as her life is below 20%.” Found in the Catacombs of Paris.

Soul Fragment — “Roses gains an extra 50% mana when she hits enemies while having 30% or less of her max health.” Found in the Nave, Notre-Dame.

Banshee’s Wail — “Returns 1 point of mana per point of damage taken.” Found in the Servants’ Quarters.

Revenant’s Shard — “Rose recovers 10% extra mana by killing enemies.” Found in the Curiosity Cabinet, Library.

Blackened Heart — “Rose recovers 2 health points when she hits an enemy with an attack, but she can’t use her healing potions.” Maximum health is 100 at the start and 220 with every Brave Heart upgrade, so 2 per hit is small next to a potion that heals 40%. Found in the Abandoned Staircase, Main Hall.
Exploration and farming Relics
These do not fight for you, so they sit outside the combat ranking. Swap them in for map clears, XP runs and trap gauntlets.

Gloomstone — “Gives a hint when Rose is close to a secret.” For 100% map completion and hidden rooms. Found in the Sanctuary of Solitude.

Phantom Ring — “Mobs respawn when you leave a room rather than after a save.” Built for grinding; pair it with the route in how to level up fast.

Moonlit Shard — “Rose gains 20% more XP by killing enemies as long as she has 100% of her maximum life.” Found on the Path of the Builder, Clock Tower.

Crystallized Blood — “Consumables appear more often when Rose kills enemies.” Found in the Dead-End Tower.

Ghostly Pendant — “Traps deal 75% less damage to Rose.” For spike and sawblade runs. Found in the Abandoned Workshop.

Sand Charm — “Rose moves 35% faster for 30 seconds after resting in a save room or using the services of the Ferryman.”

Mourning Bead — “Killing an enemy increases Rose’s movement speed by 35% for 7 seconds.”

Hollow Bone — “Rose’s movement speed is increased by 35% after using the whip on an anchor for 5 seconds.”

Dusk Amulet — “Rose moves 35% faster as long as she has 15% of her max mana or less.”

Vampire’s Fang — “A bat pet follows Rose as she moves.” Cosmetic only.
Best Relic loadouts
Relics that share a trigger fit the same playstyle. These pairings put three Relics together around one condition.
- Safe all-rounder: Witch’s Knot + Twilight Gem + Obsidian Fang.
- Full-health set: Witch’s Knot + Dark Sigil + Forsaken Ring, since Dark Sigil and Forsaken Ring both need 100% health and Witch’s Knot puts you back there with one potion.
- Parry set: Cursed Coin + Grim Token + Twilight Gem, where each parry adds damage and mana, and the mana feeds the spell that triggers Twilight Gem.
- Spell set: Twilight Gem + Lich’s Mark + Infernal Medallion (or Nightshade).
- Guard-break set: Obsidian Fang + Ebony Claw, for extra damage and a longer stun after every guard break.
- Exploration set: Gloomstone + Crypt Key + Ghostly Pendant.
Whichever three you choose, start from Witch’s Knot and build around the condition you hit most reliably, whether that is casting, parrying, breaking guards, or simply staying at full health.
