Relics are passive items that you equip in relic slots, and chests on the maps hold them at 41 spots. A new game starts with 3 relic slots, so each relic you pick up gives you another passive effect to fit into them.

Main Hall holds the most, with 7. Paris Streets, Holy Innocents' Cemetery, Catacombs of Paris, Notre-Dame and Clock Tower have 5 each, the Library and Hall of Mirrors have 4 each, and Master's Quarters has 1. Relics to look for in these chests include Shadow Veil, Crypt Key, Vampire's Fang, Beelzebub's Seal, Midnight Tear and Crystallized Blood.
