Into the Sinkhole sends Dylan down an FBC diving bell to plant probe relays at the bottom of a collapsed apartment block, then leaves you stranded when the cable snaps. The quest mixes controlled descents, a carry-and-place puzzle, a boss fight, and a shifting maze that you clear by chasing sound and light. Here is the exact order of everything you need to do to finish it.

Quick answer: Ride the diving bell down, clearing Hiss at each forced stop, install all four probe relays on the rooftops, defeat the Hiss Ruiner, then climb the illuminated cable and follow the music and flashing TVs to the street exit.

Descend the diving bell and clear the Hiss

The quest opens in the Evacuation Zone, with the sinkhole marked on your map. The descent will not run in one smooth trip. The bell stops along the way and forces you out to deal with Hiss before it will move again.

Head to the FBC diving bell, marked P32 - A1, at the sinkhole platform. Climb onto it and interact to start the descent while Zoe talks to you over the intercom.

When the bell halts and the objective switches to Find and Defeat the Hiss, drop off the platform into the shifted apartment rooms and cargo area. Wipe out the flying laser-firing Hiss and the ground enemies swarming the space.

Hunt down the named Hiss Focused – Apex enemies tagged DAN, MICHELLE, and ANNE in the side corridors. These are the priority targets that keep the disruption active.

Once Zoe confirms the disruption is cleared, return to the suspended diving bell and reactivate the controls. Repeat this loop at each stop until the bell finally reaches bedrock.

Install the four probe relays at bedrock

At the bottom, the bell docks in a ring of suspended bodies floating in stasis and the objective becomes Install the Probe Relays. You collect each relay from the central probe device and carry it to a marked rooftop. The relays go up one at a time, and the game only releases the next one after you activate the current one.

While carrying a relay you cannot perform full high jumps, so you can only climb one building tier at a time. Plan your route up the ledges before you grab the relay.

Grab the first probe relay from the central anchor. Check your radar or minimap to find the destination, shown as a radio symbol on top of one of the surrounding structures.

Carry the relay up the ledges to the marked roof. The relay’s light blinks red and faster as you close in, then turns green once you are at the correct spot. Set it down and press L1 Activate.
Return to the central device and repeat with the second, third, and fourth relays, working your way up higher rooftops each time. Activating the fourth relay updates the objective to Escape the Sinkhole.

Survive the ambush and beat the Hiss Ruiner

The moment the fourth relay goes live, the arena locks down. The diving bell retracts out of reach, the whole space turns crimson, and waves of Hiss pour in. You have to clear them before you can leave.

  • First come Hiss grunts, laser snipers, and flying Apex enemies across the bedrock floor.
  • After that wave, a large Hiss Ruiner boss spawns into the arena.
  • Focus heavy melee and drill-based attacks on the Ruiner to bring it down.

Defeating the Ruiner awards +1 Talent Point and adds the Hiss Ruiner entry to your archive menu. With the arena clear, floating building fragments appear so you can start climbing out.

Climb the cable out of the Sinkhole

Your route up follows the diving bell’s severed cable, lit in yellow and orange against the debris. Use the floating cubes and windowsills to gain height, then track the cord through the interior shafts.

Move by jumping and climbing over the airborne building cubes until you reach the lit cable. From there, continue upward through the shafts, using the power cord and glowing carpets as markers.
Pause at the spinning structure until an opening appears, then jump across the gap to the platform beyond.
Continue up to the severed end of the cable. Interact with it to close out the Escape the Sinkhole objective. Zoe’s radio signal cuts out here and music begins playing over the PA system.

Follow the music to the street exit

With the cable gone, the objective changes to Follow the music. The apartment rooms shift and repeat, so you navigate by two cues at once. Listen for the song from Zoe’s mixtape, and watch the televisions.

An active TV flashes blue when seen from a distance and switches to solid yellow as you approach. The screen that turns yellow marks the correct way forward through the maze.

Move through the shifting rooms and multi-level void spaces, leaping toward the green-lit doorways and the TVs that turn yellow while keeping the music in earshot.
Follow the cues into a long, winding green-and-yellow wallpapered corridor. Run it to the end to reach the maintenance area.
Climb the stairs and continue through the break room into the laundromat. Push open the double glass doors to emerge onto the city street.

How you know the quest is done

Stepping onto the street triggers the Quest Completed: Into the Sinkhole banner, and the linked note Plan of Attack completes at the same time. You also unlock the audio tape “Another World” in your Zoe’s Mixtape archives. The new main quest Enemy of My Enemy begins immediately, so if that quest appears in your log, everything triggered correctly.
