Phone App (searched most as “phone app dti”) is one of the round themes in Dress To Impress on Roblox. The game gives only the name, so we read it as dressing like an app on your home screen: pick a kind of app and wear its colors and feel, without copying any real logo. We built two looks in Freeplay Mode, a music app’s black-and-teal look and a photo-sharing app’s pink-and-yellow look, and took our own pictures of every step. Every piece and color here worked without Robux, so both looks work without VIP. For the other themes, see every Dress To Impress theme we have built.
Quick answer: Pick a kind of app and wear its colors. For a music app, a black mini dress with a teal corset panel and teal hair bow; for a photo-sharing app, a hot pink corset top with a yellow ruffle skirt.
Phone App outfit ideas in Dress To Impress
Dress To Impress shows no item names, so every piece here is described by where it sits, what it looks like and its color on the Default palette (columns from the left, rows from the top, light to dark). A piece’s color panel counts its parts in a label such as “1/5: Preview”; the arrow beside the label moves to the next part, and you click a heart for each one. You can set the colors while a piece previews from its mannequin, or later from the Wearing panel by clicking the piece’s picture. The black top and shorts in some of the panel pictures are the base body; the finished looks cover them.
Face, hair and boots for both looks
Set these up first: both looks share the same face, braids and boots, so you only do this once.

After the recolor the boots read black with a fluffy cuff at the top. In a full-body shot the straps still show tan and the cuff white, which you can see in the Look 2 pictures below.
Look 1: a music app’s black-and-teal look
Our idea: a music app, which we read as a dark screen with one bright accent color. The whole outfit is one recolored dress, plus the shared hair, face and boots.

The teal part turns into a boned corset panel between black bra-style cups and a short black skirt with a slit at one side. Matching it to the teal bow ties the hair to the outfit.

The finished look in Freeplay: black braids with bangs and the teal bow, the soft glam face, black cups over the teal corset panel, the black slit mini skirt and the black boots with their fluffy cuffs.

From behind, the teal panel wraps all the way around the waist under thin black straps, and the black braids hang down over the shoulders.

Look 2: a photo-sharing app’s pink-and-yellow look
Our idea: a photo-sharing app, which we read as a warm gradient of hot pink, orange and yellow. We kept the braids with the teal bow, the soft glam face and the black boots from Look 1, and swapped only the clothes.

On the body this reads as a hot pink corset with a yellow ruffle trim at the top and yellow lacing down the front.

The finished look from the front: the hot pink corset with its yellow ruffle trim and lacing, the yellow skirt over layered pink ruffles, and the same black braids with bangs.

Changing clothes does not clear the pose: the hand-on-hip pose from Look 1 was still on when we looked at the new outfit.

The full outfit, down to the boots: black tall boots with white fur cuffs and tan straps under the pink and yellow skirt, with the teal bow from Look 1 still on top. The teal bow is a small clash here; a pink or yellow bow would match the gradient better.

From behind, the corset is plain hot pink under the yellow ruffle trim, and the skirt shows its yellow top layer over the pink ruffles.

Add to Google Preferences →How to make a look read as a phone app
The theme is about the app, not the phone, so start from what people picture when they open it: its colors. Pick one kind of app (music, photos, video, chat, maps, games), take its two or three main colors and put them on the biggest pieces of the outfit, then repeat the accent color somewhere small, like the hair bow in Look 1. A dark base with one bright accent reads as a sleek app; a warm gradient of pinks, oranges and yellows reads as a photo or social app. Never put a real logo or app name on the look; the colors do the work. That is plain styling advice, not a score: we have not seen how either look does in a real round.

Phone App colors on the Default palette
These are the spots we clicked for both looks. The Default palette’s hearts can look different on the body: the orange heart reads yellow, and the row 5 heart reads bright teal.
| Color | Where on the Default palette | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Black | row 8 (the bottom row), last column | Look 1 dress parts 1, 3 and 4; hair parts 1 and 2; every part of the boots |
| Teal | row 5, 6th column (it shows as a bright teal on the body) | Look 1 dress part 2 (the corset panel); the hair bow |
| Pink | row 4, 2nd column | Look 2 top parts 1 and 4; skirt part 2 |
| Orange | row 4, last column (it shows as a warm yellow on the body) | Look 2 top parts 2 and 5; skirt part 1 |
| Purple | row 4, 3rd column | Look 2 top part 3; skirt part 3 |
Phone App pieces to look for
None of these pieces has a name in the game, so look for them by place and shape. All of them are free and worked on our account with no VIP and 0 stars.
| Piece | Where | Colors we used |
|---|---|---|
| Dressing Room, the party-dress mannequins (it comes in white) | Look 1: parts 1, 3 and 4 black, part 2 teal | |
| Lana’s Salon, a hair chair, Hairstyles panel, Braids tab | Both looks: parts 1 and 2 black, part 3 (the bow) teal | |
| The shoe shelf area of the Dressing Room | Both looks: every part black; the straps still show tan and the cuff white | |
| The party-dress mannequins (white with a pink ruffle by default) | Look 2: pink, orange, purple, pink, orange (shows hot pink with yellow trim) | |
| The same mannequin as the corset top | Look 2: orange, pink, purple (shows yellow with a pink ruffle) |
Poses for Phone App
Any free pose from the Poses menu works; the Solo list starts with Satin, Lilac, Dazzle, Pearly, Crystal, Sparkle and Daisy. We used Dazzle, a hand on the hip, for Look 1, and it stayed on for Look 2. For the full list with a picture of each, see every free pose in Dress To Impress.
Building it in Freeplay Mode first
Freeplay Mode has no timer, so it is the place to find the pieces and set every part’s color without a round running out. That matters here: the corset top has five color parts, the dress four and the skirt three, and the braids and boots both need a recolor before they fit. The party-dress mannequins and the shoe shelf are in the Dressing Room, and the vanity and hair chairs are in Lana’s Salon. Once a look works, you know where to go when Phone App comes up in a real round. How a theme round works
We have not had Phone App as a round yet; this is from ordinary server rounds on other themes. On the main lobby, the theme shows in a banner at the top with a timer under it. After dressing, each player walks the runway in turn, about 7 seconds each, while the others vote with five stars along the bottom of the screen, with a “Voting complete!” banner between players. A “Results” card then ranks the players, followed by an “Intermission” countdown.
The “Pick Theme” button next to the intermission timer lets you choose the theme, but only with Theme Props. The panel reads “You have: 0 Theme Props” and offers a “Buy More” button priced at 75 Robux. We bought none and saw no free ones, so without Robux you wait for Phone App to roll.
What we have not checked
No round we joined rolled Phone App, so these looks have not walked a real round: there is no score, star count or vote for them. We built only two app kinds; we did not try looks for video, chat, map or game apps, and we did not look for phone-shaped props or bags. The colors are our reading of the screen, given by palette position, not exact codes. Both looks were built with 0 stars, and nothing was bought.
FAQ
What is Phone App in Dress To Impress?
It is a round theme. The game shows only the name, so most players dress as a kind of app, using that app’s colors and feel rather than a logo.
What should I wear for Phone App in DTI?
Pick one app kind and wear its colors: a black mini dress with a teal corset panel and a teal hair bow for a music app, or a hot pink corset top with a yellow ruffle skirt for a photo-sharing app.
Can I do Phone App without VIP?
Yes. Both looks were built on an account with no VIP and 0 stars, and every piece and color used here worked on it.
Should I copy a real app’s logo?
No need. A logo is hard to build from clothes, and the colors already say which kind of app you mean. Our two looks use only color: black with teal, and pink with yellow.
How do I recolor a piece I am already wearing?
Open the Wearing panel, click the piece’s picture and open the Palette tab. Step through its parts with the arrow next to the part label and click a heart for each part.
How do I take a piece off in Dress To Impress?
Open the Wearing panel and click the heart with an X under the piece’s picture.
