Uncanny Valley (searched most as “uncanny valley dti”) is one of the round themes in Dress To Impress on Roblox. The game gives only the name, so we read it the way the phrase is meant: a look that is almost human but slightly wrong, with an even, flat color, wide glassy eyes, a frozen expression, hair that is too neat and a stiff pose. We built two looks in Freeplay Mode, a white android and a cracked porcelain doll, and took our own pictures of every step. Every piece and color here worked without Robux, so both looks work without VIP. For the other themes, see every Dress To Impress theme we have built.
Quick answer: For Uncanny Valley, dress in flat white or cream, pick a frozen-stare doll face card, keep the hair too neat and hold a stiff pose. Build the white android or the cracked porcelain doll.
Uncanny Valley outfit ideas in Dress To Impress
Dress To Impress shows no item names, so every piece here is described by where it sits, what it looks like and its color on the Default palette (columns from the left, rows from the top; the bottom row runs from white to black). Pieces are split into parts, and you step through them with the arrows beside the part label (“1/3: Preview” and so on). A piece you already wear can be recolored from the Wearing panel: click its picture there and pick the colors again. The plain black top and shorts in some pictures are the base body, before the clothes go on.
The two looks share an idea but no clothes. Here is what each one uses.
| Slot | White android | Cracked porcelain doll |
|---|---|---|
| Face (Feminine tab) | Second row, middle card | Second row, last card |
| Hair | Long straight hair with a headband, silver-white | Black double braids with bangs, white bow |
| Top | Cropped jacket with puffed sleeves and a lace-up corset bodysuit, white | Strapless corset top with buttons, white |
| Bottom | Shorts, white | Short ruffle skirt, white |
| Shoes | Knee-high stiletto boots, white | Short black boots with white fur cuffs |
| Pose | The first pose in the list | The first pose in the list |
The pictures in the Wearing panel can keep a piece’s old colors after you recolor it. Check the character, not the icon, to see whether a change worked.
Look 1: white android
Our idea: a too-perfect doll or robot, white from the hair to the boots, with a glossy, even finish and a blank, slightly open-mouthed stare. The base is a black studded set from the Halloween display, turned white part by part.

The finished look: silver-white hair with the headband, the open-mouthed doll face, a white jacket with big puffed sleeves over a lace-up corset bodysuit with white shorts, and white knee-high stiletto boots.
From behind, the corset’s lacing runs down the back, with the white shorts and the tall white boots below it.

Look 2: cracked porcelain doll
Our idea: a doll that has started to break. The face card does most of the work here: blank white eyes and thin cracks. The clothes stay plain white so nothing pulls the eye from the face. The base is a corset top and a ruffle skirt from the party-dress mannequins, a different set from Look 1.

The finished look from the front: the blank, cracked face between black braids, and the white strapless corset top with its buttons over the white ruffle skirt.

The pose puts one hand up at the head, which pulls the eye straight to the cracked face.

From behind, the two black braids fall down the back of the white top, and the ruffle skirt shows its layers.

The whole figure, top to bottom: the white bow on the black braids, the white corset and ruffle skirt, and the short black boots with white fur cuffs.

Add to Google Preferences →Why these looks read as Uncanny Valley
The theme is about “almost right”: a figure that looks human at first glance and then feels off. Both looks keep the clothes in one flat white or cream, so nothing looks lived-in, and put the weight on the face. The android’s face has wide, glassy eyes and a parted mouth that never changes, and its hair is one even silver-white. The porcelain doll’s face has blank white eyes and cracks, so it looks like a person and a broken object at the same time. The greyed tone of both face cards adds to the unsettling feel. A stiff pose finishes the effect. That is styling advice, not a score: we have not seen how either look does in a real round.

How to make any Dress To Impress outfit look uncanny
- Start from the face: a vanity card with wide, glassy or blank eyes and a fixed expression does more than any clothes.
- Keep the clothes in one flat color, white or cream, and recolor every part so no default shade breaks it up.
- Make the hair too neat: one even color on every part, smooth and symmetrical.
- Pick a stiff pose and hold it, rather than a lively one.
- Check the character, not the Wearing icons, after each recolor, and turn the camera to see the back.
Uncanny Valley colors on the Default palette
These are the three spots we used for both looks.
| Color | Where on the Default palette | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Light grey | row 8 (the bottom row), second heart | Look 1: hair, jacket, bodysuit and shorts. On screen it reads silver-white. |
| White | row 8, first heart | Look 1: both parts of the boots. Look 2: the bow. |
| Cream | row 2, last heart | Look 2: every part of the corset top and the ruffle skirt. On screen it reads white. |

Building it in Freeplay Mode first
Freeplay Mode has no timer, so it is the place to find the pieces and set every part’s color without a round running out. That matters here: Look 1 alone has sixteen parts to recolor across the hair, the boots and the three-piece set. The Halloween display, the party-dress mannequins and the shoe area are in the Dressing Room, and the vanity and the hair chairs are in Lana’s Salon. Once a look works, you know where to go when Uncanny Valley comes up in a real round. How a theme round works
We have not had Uncanny Valley as a round yet; this is from ordinary server rounds on other themes. On the main lobby, the theme shows in a banner at the top with a timer under it. After dressing, each player walks the runway in turn, about 7 seconds each, while the others vote with five stars along the bottom of the screen, with a “Voting complete!” banner between players. A “Results” card then ranks the players, followed by an “Intermission” countdown.
The “Pick Theme” button next to the intermission timer lets you choose the theme, but only with Theme Props. The panel reads “You have: 0 Theme Props” and offers a “Buy More” button priced at 75 Robux. We bought none and saw no free ones, so without Robux you wait for Uncanny Valley to roll.
What we have not checked
No round we joined rolled Uncanny Valley, so these looks have not walked a real round: there is no score, star count or vote for them. We did not read the names of the poses we used (both were the first one in the list); see every free pose in Dress To Impress for the full set. We did not note which tab the Look 1 hairstyle is on or which shelf the stiletto boots came from. We did not change the skin tone. Both looks were built with 0 stars, and nothing was bought.
FAQ
What is Uncanny Valley in Dress To Impress?
It is a round theme. The game shows only the name, so most players read it as a look that is almost human but slightly off: a frozen doll-like face, flat even colors, too-neat hair and a stiff pose.
What should I wear for Uncanny Valley in DTI?
All white or cream clothes with a doll face card. Our two: silver-white hair with a white corset romper and knee-high stiletto boots, or a cracked blank-eyed face with black braids, a white corset top and a ruffle skirt.
Can I do Uncanny Valley without VIP?
Yes. Both looks were built on an account with no VIP and 0 stars, and every piece and color used here worked on it.
Which face should I use for Uncanny Valley?
At the Lana’s Salon vanity, Feminine tab, the second row has both of ours: the middle card (wide glassy eyes and an open mouth) and the last card (blank white eyes with cracks).
How do I make hair white in Dress To Impress?
Open the Wearing panel, click the hair’s picture and use the Palette tab. Step through every part with the arrow and click a heart from the bottom row: the second one (light grey) gave our hair an even silver-white, and the first one is plain white.
Is Uncanny Valley the same as the Dolls theme?
No. A doll theme can be cute and sweet. Uncanny Valley works best when the look feels a little wrong: blank or glassy eyes, a frozen face and no warmth in the colors.
