Cookie Run Crumble: Best Gear and Sugar Rune Stats for Every Role

The stats worth chasing on oven gear, plating, and Sugar Runes for DPS, support, tank, and debuffer Cookies.

The stats worth chasing on oven gear, plating, and Sugar Runes for DPS, support, tank, and debuffer Cookies.

Progress in Cookie Run: Crumble stalls hard around the 40-30 stage wall, and the usual fix is not more summons. It is cleaner stats. Once your Cookies are leveled, the difference between a team that clears and a team that stalls comes down to what rolls sit on your oven gear, plating, and Sugar Runes. A handful of stats carry almost every Cookie, while several are close to dead weight.

Quick answer: Chase Skill Amp and Skill Haste on nearly every Cookie. Add ATK plus CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG on DPS units, DMG Reduction and CRIT on tanks, and Focus on debuffers. Skip Resistance, Accuracy, Evasion, and Movement Speed on gear.

Skill Amp and Skill Haste carry every role

Two stats matter no matter what a Cookie does. Skill Amp raises the damage, healing, or buff strength of a Cookie’s skill. Skill Haste cuts the cooldown, so the skill fires more often. Because every role in the game leans on its skill, these two universally improve DPS, support, and tank Cookies alike. When you are unsure what to lock in, they are the safe default.

CRIT is the other stat with a hidden ceiling worth knowing. If a Cookie’s CRIT% pushes past 100%, the CRIT DMG bonus can stack more than once on a single hit, which makes CRIT-heavy rolls scale harder than the raw number suggests.

Oven gear: roll Special rarity or higher

When you roll oven gear, rarity decides how many substats a piece can hold. Aim for “Special” rarity and above, since that tier is the point where a piece grants two substats instead of one. Two substats double your chances of landing the stats you actually want, so anything below Special is generally not worth equipping long term.

Plating pieces have clearer targets. The Book piece is where you want Skill Amp, and the Weapon piece is where you want ATK. Prioritize upgrading those two first, since they line up directly with the stats that move damage the most.

Stats to avoid on gear

Several stats look useful but rarely earn a slot. Resistance, Accuracy, Evasion, and Movement Speed are the low-priority rolls. They either fight a niche mechanic or barely move your clear speed, so rerolling into them wastes materials that could push Skill Amp, Skill Haste, ATK, or CRIT instead. The one caveat is Focus, which is a real requirement for debuffers rather than a throwaway stat.

Team power changes your damage multiplier

Stats do not exist in a vacuum. Your team’s combined combat power, measured against a stage’s recommended power, sets a final damage multiplier. Fall short and your damage is penalized down to 55%. Overbuild and you gain up to a 120% bonus. This is why raising raw power through better gear stats can matter as much as the stats themselves on higher stages.

Stage 42-1 shows how steep the curve gets. Each power breakpoint maps to a different damage adjustment.

How Sugar Rune crafting works

Sugar Rune crafting unlocks at around quest number 674. Every Cookie has eight rune slots, but only the first is open from the start. The rest open as you promote the Cookie and raise its star level.

SlotRequirement
FirstFree
Second2 Stars
Third4 Stars
Fourth6 Stars
Fifth / Sixth8 Stars
Seventh / Eighth10 Stars

Crafting costs Rune Crystals, which come from events and the shop and are slow to accumulate. Tapping Craft fills a slot with a random rune piece and random stats. The catch is that a craft rerolls every slot at once, including locked-out ones you cannot use yet. To protect a good roll, tap the lock button next to it so the next craft leaves it alone. Locking raises the cost of each craft in proportion to how many slots you lock, so lock only what you truly want to keep.

Rune rarity runs SSR, SR, R, U, and C, and the top grades are rare. The published craft rates make that clear.

RarityCraft probability
SSR1.07%
SR4.29%
R17.93%
U26.90%
C49.81%

Auto Craft repeats the process until your target rarity and effects appear. You can set up to three targeted effects; leave them blank and it assigns effects at random from the full pool. Options for Quick Crafting and Ignore Disabled Slots keep it from wasting rolls on locked-out slots.

Best Sugar Rune stats by role

Targets shift by what the Cookie is built to do, but the priorities are consistent within each role.

RolePriority stats
DPS / damage dealerATK, Skill AMP, Skill Haste, CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
SupportSkill AMP, Skill Haste
TankSkill AMP, Skill Haste, DMG Reduction, CRIT, HP / DEF
DebufferFocus, Skill AMP, Skill Haste

DPS Cookies: roll without locking

Damage dealers like Wind Archer, Oven Wanderer, and Vampire have so many viable stats that locking is often counterproductive. ATK raises damage, Skill AMP scales the skill, Skill Haste fires it more often, and CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG amplify the big hits. Because almost every roll is useful, crafting freely and keeping whatever lands beats locking one narrow target.

Support Cookies: pure skill uptime

Supports such as Macaron, Milk Cookie’s Crunchy Strong Pediatrician, and Pomegranate exist to keep buffs and heals flowing. Skill AMP strengthens their healing and buffs, while Skill Haste shortens the cooldown so allies get those effects sooner and more often. Focus your rune targets on those two.

Tank Cookies: survive and still contribute

Frontliners like Nameless Cake Hound and Madeleine want DMG Reduction to soak hits, plus HP and DEF for raw durability. Skill AMP, Skill Haste, and CRIT still earn their place, since a tank that keeps its skill on cooldown and lands crits adds real pressure while it holds the line.

Debuffers: Focus is mandatory

Cookies that apply debuffs, like Scorpion Cookie and Devil Cookie, need Focus above almost everything else. Focus counters an enemy’s Resistance and raises the odds that a debuff actually lands. If the enemy’s Resistance outweighs your Focus, the debuff often fails; when your Focus is higher, it sticks reliably. One important quirk keeps this from being an all-or-nothing wall: when several status effects or debuffs overlap on a target, only the strongest active effect applies.

Note: You can technically skip stacking Focus and just retry a stage until the RNG lands your debuffs, but that only works for one-off clears. For consistent runs, build the Focus.

The takeaway is simple enough to act on today. Keep oven gear at Special rarity or higher for two substats, put Skill Amp on your Book and ATK on your Weapon, and steer every Sugar Rune roll toward Skill Amp and Skill Haste first. From there, layer ATK and CRIT on your carries, DMG Reduction on your wall, and Focus on your debuffers, and watch how much further your existing roster pushes past that stage wall.
