Cut a Rock runs on a simple loop. You mine a rock, carry it to the cutter on your own plot, crack it open, and sell whatever comes out. Early cash is slow while you’re swinging the Stone Pickaxe and carrying two rocks at a time. One purchase changes the pace, and with a little planning you can afford it within your first few trips to Room 1.
Quick answer: Claim the Day 1 2x Money Boost, mine Common rocks in Room 1, cut and sell them until you have $3K, then buy the Copper Pickaxe and start cutting Uncommon rocks.
How the Cut a Rock loop works
Rocks are worth nothing until you cut them. Mining a rock puts it in your pocket, and the cutter on your base turns it into a material such as Seashell, Copper, or Petalstone. Only that material can be sold. Money then goes into upgrades, a better pickaxe, or the cutter itself, and each of those makes the next run quicker.
- Mine rocks in a mine room, starting with Room 1.
- Carry them to the Cutting Machine on your own plot.
- Cut each rock and collect the material inside.
- Sell materials at the Sell stall in the central hub.
- Spend cash on upgrades, pickaxes, and cutter levels.
You start with the Stone Pickaxe equipped at x20 power and room for two rocks in your pocket. The counter on screen reads 1/2 or 2/2 as you fill up. Two quick-travel buttons save a lot of walking. Spawn(F) drops you back in the hub, and Home(Q) takes you straight to your base.

Add to Google Preferences →Claim the Day 1 Daily Reward before you sell anything
Open DAILY REWARDS from the left sidebar and claim Day 1 right away. It gives a one-hour 2x Money Boost, so every sale pays double. The game confirms it with a “2x Money Boost activated!” message, and the menu adds that the time stacks on top of any boost you already have. Sale popups then show the multiplier, for example “Sold for +$2.4K $1.2K x2 multiplier.”
Claiming it before your first sale matters. Every early sale counts toward the Copper Pickaxe, and doubling those first few hundred dollars gets you there noticeably faster. Days after the first unlock on a timer. The menu shows a countdown on Day 2 and keeps the later days marked LOCKED.
| Day | Reward |
|---|---|
| Day 1 | 1 Hour 2x Money Boost |
| Day 2 | 3 Random Limited Rocks |
| Day 3 | 2x Double Your Power |
| Day 4 | Free Next Pickaxe |
| Day 5 | +3 |
| Day 6 | +3 |
| Day 7 | 5 Limited Rocks, choose from 4 types |
The Day 7 rocks come from Nova Prism, Genesis Monolith, Royal Relic, and Sun Scarab. Day 4’s free pickaxe is also worth waiting for if you’re already close to buying your next one.
Your first Room 1 run, start to sale
Room 1 is the starting mine. The sign at the entrance lists its spawn rates: Common 85%, Uncommon 15%, and Nova Prism 0.1%. Each rock has a floating label showing its rarity, so you can tell them apart before you swing.

Home(Q) or walk back to your own plot. Plots belong to individual players. If you wander onto someone else’s, the game stops you with “This isn’t your base, find your own!” Your plot is the one with your Level 1 Cutting Machine on it.
E Place Rock prompt at the machine to open the ROCK CUTTER menu, then press CUT. A Common rock shows CUT TIME 5s. While it runs, the panel reads CUTTING with a Finish Now! button and a countdown. Once your queue is empty, the panel says “No rocks to cut.”

E Sell Rocks prompt. The SELL panel lets you SELL ALL or SELL SELECTED, and a popup confirms the payout, for example “Sold for +$690 1 stone sold.”
What Common and Uncommon rocks pay
Common rocks pay a few hundred dollars each. One Uncommon rock pays more than several trips’ worth of Commons combined. The values below are base sale prices before the 2x Money Boost.
| Material | Rock rarity | Cut time | Base sale |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seashell | Common | 5s | $690 |
| Copper | Common | 5s | $420 |
| Rust Gear | Common | 5s | $530 |
| Old Button | Common | 5s | $1.2K with one Copper |
| Petalstone | Uncommon | 30s | $2.86K |
Each rarity has five materials to discover, tracked in the INDEX button on the left sidebar. You can’t pick which material a rock gives you. Cutting more rocks is the only way to fill out the set. The six-times-longer cut on an Uncommon rock is still worth it, since one Petalstone outsells any Common material by a wide margin.
Upgrade costs: Eyesight, Pocket, and the Rock Cutter
The Upgrade Station is the kiosk with a blue awning in the hub. It sells two personal stats, and the Rock Cutter menu on your plot has its own level-up option. They’re priced very differently, which settles what to buy first.

| Upgrade | Effect | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Eyesight Level 1 | +1 sight | $1K |
| Eyesight Level 2 | +1 sight | $7K |
| Pocket Level 2 | +1 slot | $10K |
| Rock Cutter Level 1 → 2 | Cutter level | $2.5K |
Eyesight lets you spot higher-tier rocks. At $1K, the first level is the only upgrade you can realistically afford on the way to the Copper Pickaxe. Pocket Level 2 raises your carry limit from two rocks to three, but $10K is better saved for after the pickaxe. The cutter upgrade is bought from the ROCK CUTTER panel itself, which shows “LEVEL 1,” “1 -> 2,” and the $2.5K price.

Buying Eyesight Level 1 still leaves you short of $3K, so plan on one more Common rock afterward to cover the gap to the Copper Pickaxe.
Buy the Copper Pickaxe for $3K
The PICKAXES stall sits in the hub near the Sell stall, and you open it with the E Improve Your Pickaxe prompt. It lists your equipped Stone Pickaxe at x20 next to the Copper Pickaxe at x150. That’s more than seven times the power, and it shows the moment you swing at a rock.

The Copper Pickaxe costs $3K, or 70 Robux if you’d rather pay to skip the grind. With the Day 1 boost running, a handful of Common rocks covers it even after the $1K Eyesight purchase. Check your balance against the price before walking over, since the stall won’t sell it to you $80 short.

Once you have the money, buy it from the same menu. The Copper Pickaxe equips right away and replaces the Stone Pickaxe in your hands. The shop entry switching to EQUIPPED is your confirmation.

Also near the hub, a large orc NPC stands beside display pedestals holding limited pickaxes, opened with the E Limited Pickaxes prompt. They’re separate from the regular pickaxe ladder and aren’t needed for early progress.
Cutting Uncommon rocks into Petalstone
With x150 power, Common rocks break almost instantly, and Uncommon rocks in Room 1 become fast enough to farm on purpose. Look for the “Uncommon” label floating above a rock and go for those first.

Plots, promo tickets, and other hub details
Plots around the hub carry labels such as “Standard Farm” and “Starter Farm.” Locked areas show their price on a transparent boundary cube, like “Locked – 100$” and “Locked – 10K$.” Some interactables inside, such as a Pickaxe Rack, sit behind those barriers until you pay to unlock them.

Promo Tickets also appear around the hub and show an E Pick Up prompt when you walk up to one. Grab any you see while crossing between your plot and the stalls, since it takes a single key press.

The SHOP button on the sidebar opens paid bundles such as the STARTER PACK and DOUBLE YOUR POWER. Neither is needed to reach the Copper Pickaxe or your first Petalstone. Once the Petalstone money is in, Pocket Level 2 at $10K is the next sensible goal, because carrying a third rock means fewer trips between Room 1 and your cutter.
