Delta Force: How to Get the Vigil Harmonica Easter Egg (Full Guide)

Every Zola task, item location, and reset gate you need to claim the gold Vigil Harmonica collectible in Layali Grove.

Every Zola task, item location, and reset gate you need to claim the gold Vigil Harmonica collectible in Layali Grove.

The Vigil Harmonica is a gold collectible tied to an NPC questline hidden inside Layali Grove. It is not a loot drop and it cannot be bought. You earn it by running a chain of tasks for Zola Zar, handing in a specific quest item each time, and finishing with a combat mission that ends in a successful extraction.

Quick answer: Find Zola Zar in the Northern Slope Cavern on Layali Grove, complete every task he gives you (helmet, armor, weapon accessories, supply drops, chest rig, underwater backpack, and the final station clear), then open Zola’s Thank-You Letter in your lobby mail to claim the Vigil Harmonica.

What the Vigil Harmonica is

The harmonica is a gold-tier collectible described in-game as an old instrument marked by time and war. Once claimed, it sits in your Collection Room and can be slotted into the EDC Tool Kit display. It is also interactive: you can inspect it and play notes on the overlay to perform the Song of Al-Saraf (shown in some builds as the Song of Ahsarah).

Requirements before you start the Zola questline

Two things decide how long the chain takes: your safe box discipline and your diving gear. Quest items behave like normal loot, so anything you fail to secure is gone if you die before extracting.

RequirementDetail
Mode and mapOperations, Layali Grove
NPC locationZola Zar, Northern Slope Cavern
Item safetyPut every quest item in your safe box as soon as you pick it up
Diving gearLevel 2 or 3 Diving Center plus Tempest for the underwater task
PacingSome tasks only unlock after the daily server reset
MoneyZola pays you for the supply-buying task, so no personal spend is needed

Note: the chain cannot be finished in one sitting. At least two of Zola’s tasks only appear after a daily reset, and the task prompt itself displays the reset time, so check it in the dialogue window rather than assuming.

Vigil Harmonica walkthrough: all Zola tasks in order

Deploy into Layali Grove and open your map to route toward the Northern Slope Cavern. Head inside and talk to Zola Zar, then select Accept to take the first task.
Move to the manor building and clear the guards protecting the boss. Kill Reis (written as Rice in some builds) and grab the Lost Hero’s Helmet, which spawns beside his loot crate rather than inside it.

Place the helmet in your safe box so a death does not cost you the run. Bring it back to Zola in the cavern and submit it to close out the first task.
Accept the armor task and swim into the flooded passage on the left side of the cave system. Kill the crocodiles in the deep chamber, then take the soldier’s armor off the central rock and hand it to Zola.

After the daily reset, accept the weapon accessories task. You need seven accessories spread across four spots, and they all count as mission items you pick up with the on-screen prompt.

Submit all seven accessories to Zola and take the money he gives you. Buy the required supplies, load them into your safe box before deploying, then place one set at each of the two marked house doors in Aminya Village.

Take the chest rig task and go to Aminya Village again, this time to the space beneath the church structure. Pick up the quest chest rig, secure it in your safe box, and return it to Zola.
Wait for the next daily reset, then accept the underwater task from Zola. This is the one hard gear check in the chain, so make sure you have a Level 2 or 3 Diving Center and Tempest equipped before you deploy.

Accepting and submitting tasks runs through Zola Zar’s dialogue prompt inside the cavern.
Travel to the southern body of water and dive into the submerged trench. Follow the turns down through the underwater cave until you reach the quest backpack, grab it, and surface. A teammate makes this leg safer because the swim is long and you surface far from cover.

The objective marker counts down the remaining distance as you descend through the trench.
Hand the backpack to Zola, then equip the full recovered set from the stand in his cave. Wearing that gear is part of the final task, so do not deploy in your usual loadout.
Clear the Haavk soldiers at Transnova Station and the Radar Station lab area, then shoot down the enemy helicopter that arrives. Loot the final quest items, extract successfully, and return to Zola in the underground shelter to submit the last task.

Claim the Vigil Harmonica and confirm it worked

The reward does not drop into your inventory at the end of the mission. Once the final task is submitted, go back to the lobby and open your mail, where Zola’s Thank-You Letter will be waiting. Claiming it grants the gold Vigil Harmonica collectible.

You know it worked when the collectible appears in your Collection Room and can be set into an EDC Tool Kit display slot. Inspecting it opens the note overlay, and playing through the sequence performs the Song of Al-Saraf.

Why the quest chain stalls

  • The quest item was never moved to the safe box, so it was lost on death and has to be collected again.
  • The next task has not refreshed yet. Zola will not hand out the gated tasks until the daily reset shown in the task prompt has passed.
  • You deployed for the dive without a Level 2 or 3 Diving Center and Tempest, which makes the deep trench route unworkable.
  • Only some of the seven accessories were collected. All four locations must be cleared before the submission registers.
  • The final mission was completed but the run ended without extracting, which means the quest items never make it back.

Plan the chain as several short Layali Grove runs rather than one long raid. Each task boils down to the same loop, which is pick up the item, bank it in the safe box, and walk it back to Zola, and the two reset gates spread the rest over more than one day. Get the last submission in and the harmonica is a one-click claim from your mail.
