The Weird Route, better known as Snowgrave, is the dark alternate path you start in Deltarune Chapter 2 by forcing Noelle to freeze enemies and finish Berdly with the Snowgrave spell. Once it is active, it carries forward into the later chapters on the same save, changing scenes, dialogue, and outcomes. Chapter 3 asks nothing extra of you, while Chapter 4 has a specific sequence at Noelle’s house that you must complete to stay on the route.
Quick answer: Continue your Chapter 2 Snowgrave file into Chapter 3 and play normally. In Chapter 4, after the church, reach Noelle’s house, control Kris’s SOUL through the vents, put the SOUL back into Kris, and pick “Proceed,” then “Me,” “Because it wasn’t a dream,” “I heard,” and “It’s not a coincidence.”
Requirement: start Snowgrave in Chapter 2 first
You cannot begin the Weird Route in Chapter 3 or 4 from scratch. It only exists as a continuation of the Snowgrave path triggered in Chapter 2, where you make Noelle freeze most enemies and cast Snowgrave on Berdly. The game tracks this on your save file, so the same file is what brings the route forward.
The only way to leave the route after starting it is to reload an earlier save. If you keep playing the Snowgrave file, the next chapters build on it automatically.

Add to Google Preferences →Chapter 3: nothing to trigger, but scenes change
Chapter 3 has no separate Weird Route action to perform. Loading your Snowgrave save continues the route without any choices or interactions on your part, and none of your decisions in this chapter can break it. You can finish the chapter normally and move on to Chapter 4.
The differences here are atmospheric rather than mechanical. A few moments shift to keep the unease going while pointing back at what you did in Chapter 2.
| Scene | What changes on the Weird Route |
|---|---|
| Shadow Mantle TV minigame | The Shadow Mantle speaks through the TV, saying it knows your intentions and refusing to give you what you want, referencing “what you did yesterday.” |
| Church with Susie and Noelle | Kris stays distant and passive instead of celebrating. Susie asks if Kris has a problem with Noelle and says, “Maybe things took a weird route right now.” |
| Berdly in the hospital | Kris finds Berdly asleep and can heat him up to relax him. The scene shows he is recovering rather than dead. |
Chapter 4: trigger the SOUL scene at Noelle’s house
This is where the Weird Route demands real input again. Play normally until you reach Noelle’s house after the church section. Noelle asks to talk to Kris and waits in her room, which kicks off the sequence.

Dialogue choices that lock in the Weird Route
After the SOUL is back in Kris, Noelle opens up about her “dream.” Choose the following responses in order to stay on the route.

- Me
- Because it wasn’t a dream
- I heard
- It’s not a coincidence
Once this conversation finishes, you are locked into the Weird Route for the rest of Chapter 4. Any choices you make afterward no longer affect it, so you can play through the remaining content as usual on your way to Chapter 5.
Note: The sequence pushes further on its own. Kris later takes the SOUL into the bathroom, throws it in the trash, and kicks it, and the chapter ends with the SOUL locked in a cage beside Kris in bed.
How to confirm it worked and why it can fail
You know the route is holding when the Noelle conversation completes and the game continues into the bathroom and cage scenes instead of having Kris flee the room. From that point, the rest of Chapter 4 plays out on the Weird Route automatically.
The one common failure is not returning the SOUL to Kris in time after picking “Proceed.” When that happens, Kris senses the SOUL, pulls Noelle out of the room, and the route is aborted. Reload your save and redo the SOUL movement quickly to recover.
With the Snowgrave file carried through Chapter 3 and the Noelle scene handled correctly in Chapter 4, the Weird Route stays intact and ready to continue into the next chapter.
