Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Roadmap Confirms Multiple DLC Fighters

Bandai Namco's anniversary roadmap signals more than one new paid fighter, plus Tower of Power modes and a crossplay beta.

Bandai Namco’s anniversary roadmap signals more than one new paid fighter, plus Tower of Power modes and a crossplay beta.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is not done adding fighters. A roadmap released to mark the game’s second anniversary lays out another year of content, and a follow-up post on Bandai Namco’s official website makes clear that the paid side of that plan involves more than a single character.

Quick answer: Bandai describes the upcoming paid DLC as “new paid DLC featuring playable characters” — the plural confirms more than one new fighter is planned, alongside free Tower of Power modes and powered-up versions of existing modes.

More than one new playable character is coming as paid DLC

The anniversary roadmap itself mentions a “playable character” as paid DLC, which led fans to assume only one fighter was planned. On an expansive roadmap, that read as an undersell.

Bandai’s own write-up tells a different story. Toward the end of its post, the company refers to “new paid DLC featuring playable characters.” That plural wording points to several fighters joining a roster that already sits above 200 characters after the Super Limit-Breaking NEO expansion.

No specific names have been confirmed yet. Fans have long pushed for picks such as Gohan Black and a handful of Budokai Tenkaichi 3 favorites, but those remain requests rather than announced additions.

Tower of Power mode arrives in two forms

Beyond the fighters, the roadmap adds a new Tower of Power mode split across a solo and a team-up version.

Tower of Power (Solo)

The single-player version lands this winter. You climb floors against progressively stronger enemies, using your favorite characters or ones you have trained in the Limit Breaker Journey mode from the NEO DLC. Clearing the tower earns customization items that make a character’s charging Ki aura more elaborate.

Tower of Power (Team-up)

The team-up version is scheduled for around Spring 2027. Up to five players can team online, each controlling one character, in battles the developers compare to the fights at Fortuneteller Baba’s Palace.

Free updates power up Mission 100 and Survival

The existing Mission 100 and Survival Mode are getting SP versions: Mission 100 SP and Survival Mode SP. Their missions and battles pit characters developed through Limit Breaker Journey against foes with boosted stats.

This content arrives in a free update; ownership of the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC isn’t required to play it.

Crossplay beta planned for 2027

The roadmap also commits to a crossplay beta test in 2027. It is a less dramatic addition than the mode and roster changes, but it signals continued support well into next year.

How this follows Super Limit-Breaking NEO

Super Limit-Breaking NEO arrived on July 30, 2026, and was large enough to feel like a send-off. It brought more than 30 new fighters, including Super 17, Super Saiyan Bardock, Champa, and Vegeta (GT), along with over 20 customization options, four new stages, and the Limit Breaker Journey single-player mode.

The anniversary roadmap shows that work continued past NEO rather than wrapping up with it. With multiple paid fighters confirmed in Bandai’s own wording, plus the Tower of Power modes, the free mode upgrades, and a crossplay beta, Sparking Zero’s content plan stretches across the next year.
