The Blackmire has five hidden recipe notes that count toward its journal quest, plus a sixth note in the same collection that unlocks an arrow. The Hollow Halls have three more, one in each of the Revelwood, Nomad Highlands, and Kindlewastes Halls.
Quick answer: Read each note to unlock its recipes. Five Blackmire notes complete the level 13 quest, three Hollow Halls notes complete the level 25 quest, and each quest pays 75 XP.
| Note | Where | Unlocks | Crafted at |
|---|---|---|---|
| A Miserable Jump | Blackmire, ~280 m SW of a Return Beacon | Trampoline (High Jump), Trampoline (Medium Jump) | Carpenter |
| I Have To Remember This | Blackmire, ~145 m E of a Return Beacon | Vukah Shrine | Decoration Workbench |
| A Wonderland Of Lost Architecture! | Blackmire, ~225 m NW of a Return Beacon | 8 Blackmire statues | Decoration Workbench |
| Larger Than Life! | Blackmire, ~12 m SW of a Hidden Temple | Blackmire Temple Door | Carpenter |

“The Message Above” sits in the Blackmire collection but is not one of the five notes the quest counts. It unlocks an arrow at the Hunter instead.
How hidden recipe notes unlock recipes
Reading a note is what unlocks its recipes. After that, the Carpenter, Hunter, and Collector list the new recipes in their crafting menus, and the decoration pieces show up at the Decoration Workbench.
The Blackmire and the Hollow Halls each have their own journal quest, which starts when you find the first note.
- Hidden Crafting Recipes — Blackmire is recommended for level 13. Collect 5 notes for 75 XP.
- Hidden Crafting Recipes — Hollow Halls is recommended for level 25. Collect 3 notes for 75 XP.
The Blackmire quest’s task text reads: “You’ve found a hidden crafting recipe in the Blackmire! Obtain all 5 recipes scattered throughout the area to unlock traversal options for your home, as well as buffs and decorations!” The Hollow Halls version reads: “You’ve found a hidden crafting recipe inside the Hollow Halls. Obtain all recipes scattered throughout the Halls in each biome to decorate your home with a new mysterious flair!”
