Amber in Enshrouded grows only inside the Shroud, and the most reliable deposits are in the Revelwood, clustered around the region’s Ancient Spire. You need it for fire spells, armor, and the Flame Altar upgrade from level 3 to 4. A single deposit can return close to a hundred pieces.
Quick answer: Reach Flame Level 3, fast travel to Ancient Spire – Revelwood, glide into the Shroud below, and mine the orange, bubbly clusters on rocks and roots with any pickaxe.
Amber requirements: Flame Level 3 and a pickaxe
Amber is a Common material with an item level of 13, and it stacks to 250. It looks like lumpy, reddish-orange growths that bubble out of stone and the thick roots inside the fog. Every Amber area sits in Level 3 Shroud. If your Flame is below level 3, that fog becomes Deadly Shroud, shown in red on the map, and it kills you almost instantly.
Bring these before you go:
- Flame Level 3 at your Flame Altar, which raises your Shroud passage level to 3.
- A pickaxe. The Copper Pickaxe is enough.
- A Glider, for dropping off the spire into the valleys.
- The Grappling Hook, crafted at the Workbench, for crossing chasms on the way.
- Spare inventory space. Store your other materials in chests in case you die in the fog.

Every location below starts at the Ancient Spire – Revelwood fast travel point. If you haven’t unlocked it yet, walk there once from the Springlands.

Completing the spire also reveals a Flame Sanctum to its northwest on the map, which you need for one of the deposits below.
Amber locations around the Revelwood Spire
Four deposits sit in the Shroud directly below the spire and take less than a minute to reach by glider. Two more are inside deep scars in the ground farther out. Those two hold far more Amber, with hundreds of pieces across their walls.
| Location | Direction from spire | Where the Amber is |
|---|---|---|
| East cliff base | East | Rock face and large detached stone |
| Northeast cliff | Northeast | Northwestern side of the cliff |
| North ridge | North | Raised outcrop and boulders under cliffs |
| Blackmire passage scar | Northwest | Walls of a deep crack |
| Fawnsong Frontier scar | Far east | Underground cave below a scar |

East of the spire
At the spire’s balcony, face east, jump, and glide toward the foot of the cliff. Just beyond the edge, where the Shroud starts, a large Amber vein is visible in the rock face; a nearby detached stone has additional Amber. Mining the whole cluster yielded 91 Amber in one run. To get out, follow the cliff ledge south until you leave the fog.

Northeast of the spire
Glide northeast from the spire to enter the Shroud. Amber grows on the northwestern face of the large cliff that forms the fog’s border.
North of the spire
Walk to the northern balcony and glide north into the foggy valley. Land and keep running north through the forest until you reach a raised rocky ridge, then climb up to the cluster. Follow the Shroud farther north from the northeast deposit and you’ll find more Amber on large boulders under the cliffs at the fog’s northern tip.

Passage to Blackmire
A basin northwest of the spire holds a Flame Sanctum at its center, near the passage into Blackmire. Go a short distance northeast from the Sanctum to reach a huge ground fissure. Drop inside and search its walls for large Amber deposits. Alternatively, glide from the Sanctum to the Shroud’s northwestern tip, where more Amber is attached to a cliff face.
When your Shroud timer runs low, find the ladder inside the scar that leads back to the surface. From there, head to the Flame Sanctum or to the north or south edge of the fog.
East of Fawnsong Frontier
Jump off the spire’s eastern railing and glide past Fawnsong Frontier. Stay in the air over the Enshrouded valley underneath. Once you clear the large scavenger camp, keep flying east until you spot a scar in the ground. It opens into an underground cave lined with Amber.
Mining Amber inside the Shroud
Your Shroud timer starts counting down the moment you enter the fog. Equip your pickaxe, aim at a cluster, and swing when the “Mine” prompt appears. Each strike drops Amber, sometimes alongside Stone, and grants XP. One cluster takes several swings and pays out several pieces before it’s gone.
Fast travel does not work while you’re in the Shroud, so walk or climb out before the timer empties, then fast travel home.

Farming Amber: respawn time and the reload reset
Mined Amber returns after about two in-game days. Building a Flame Altar next to one of the scars gives you a fast travel point right at the deposit, which cuts the trip down for every return visit.

World resources also reset when you leave a world and load it again. In a private world, you can use that to refill the east-of-spire vein on demand.
What Amber is used for in Enshrouded
Amber goes into 43 recipes, most of them at the Blacksmith and the Alchemist, including a range of armor pieces. Picking up Amber for the first time teaches you the Fireball II recipe. Mages need it most, since the early fire spells all call for it, often paired with Resin and Charcoal.
| Recipe | Crafted at | Ingredients | Makes |
|---|---|---|---|
| By hand | 3 Amber, 4 Resin | 20 | |
| By hand | 4 Amber, 4 Charcoal | 20 | |
| Alchemist | 5 Amber, 4 Tar, 10 Resin | 20 | |
| Alchemist | 5 Amber, 5 Charcoal, 10 Resin | 20 | |
| Alchemist | 5 Amber, 10 Charcoal, 1 Bronze Bars, 2 Straw | 20 | |
| Hunter | 2 Amber, 25 Bronze Arrow, 1 Poison Sack | 25 |
Fire Bolt III requires Flame level 3 or higher, and Fire Bolt IV requires Flame level 4 or higher. The Eternal Fireball 1 spell costs 25 Amber and lets you cast Fireball without spending charges, though it hits softer than the charge-based fire spells.
Upgrading the Flame Altar from level 3 to level 4 takes 15 Amber along with these materials:
- 15 Goo
- 15 Corrupted Boar Tusk
- 10 Spark
- 15 Indigo Plant
- 15 Copper Ore
- 1 Fell Wispwyvern Head
Corrupted Boar Tusk drops from Fell Boars, also in the Revelwood Shroud, so you can gather both on the same trip. The upgrade raises your Shroud passage level from 3 to 4 and your altar activation capacity from 6 to 8.
