Enshrouded 1.0: How to Get Underwater Luminous Growth

Mine the glowing green patches in the Veilwater Basin and turn them into the Miner Helmet or colored base lights.

Mine the glowing green patches in the Veilwater Basin and turn them into the Miner Helmet or colored base lights.

Around the water in Veilwater Basin, the ground is dotted with vivid green Underwater Luminous Growth. You need it to craft the Miner Helmet and every colored Carpenter light, so gather a healthy stack before decorating a base or pursuing that armor piece.

Quick answer: Travel to the Veilwater Basin, equip a pickaxe, and mine the bright green glowing patches found by and under the water. Each hit drops the material straight into your inventory, and it stacks to 250.

Where to mine Underwater Luminous Growth

The growth comes from the Veilwater Basin, where it glows a vivid green across patches of ground by the shoreline and down under the surface. Its in-game description reads, “An organic growth that glows brightly in the deep, dark waters.”

Travel to the Veilwater Basin and head toward the water. The patches sit both at the edge of the water and beneath it.
Look for the bright green glowing growth covering the ground by and under the water. The color stands out clearly against the darker surroundings.

With a pickaxe equipped, mine the glowing patch. Confirm the material entered your inventory by checking the pickup notice on the left side of the screen for Underwater Luminous Growth.

Because it stacks to 250, a single collecting run can cover a large build and the Miner Helmet at once.

Carpenter light recipes

The Carpenter turns the growth into eighteen colored fixtures, split across Pendant, Wall, and Floor lights at two tiers each. Every one of them takes 1 Underwater Luminous Growth, and the color is set by a single add-in: Blue lights take 5 Aquamarine Dust, Orange lights take 1 Daylily, and Purple lights take 1 Passionflower. The table below lists the shared base ingredients for each fixture.

To read a full recipe, add 1 Underwater Luminous Growth and the color add-in to the base row. A Blue Pendant Light I, for example, takes 2 Glass, 4 String, 5 Drak Teeth, 1 Underwater Luminous Growth, and 5 Aquamarine Dust. Swap the Aquamarine Dust for a Daylily to get the Orange version, or a Passionflower for the Purple one.
