Sparkling Dust is a level 45 crafting material in Enshrouded 1.0. It feeds endgame Eternal spells, Eternal arrows, armor pieces and a long list of Ancient-themed furniture. You can’t loot it. You grind it yourself at a Mill, and three of its four ingredients only come from Cinder’s Cradle, the new region behind the Ancient Gate.
Quick answer: Put 1 Diamond, 1 Moonstone, 2 Celestium Ore and 1 Mother-Of-Pearl into a powered Mill, then queue Sparkling Dust. One craft takes 3 minutes and yields one unit.
Sparkling Dust recipe at the Mill
The recipe takes five items across four materials. Celestium Ore is the only one you need two of, so mine extra if you plan to make Sparkling Dust in bulk.
| Ingredient | Amount per craft | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Cinder’s Cradle Shroud | |
| 1 | Cinder’s Cradle | |
| 2 | Cinder’s Cradle | |
| 1 | Veilwater Basin, underwater |
Each craft produces 1 Sparkling Dust in 3 minutes. The finished dust stacks to 250, so a single backpack slot holds a lot of it.

Requirements before you can craft Sparkling Dust
Three things have to be in place before the recipe appears and the Mill will run.

- Access to Cinder’s Cradle. The Ancient Gate north of Veilwater Basin, between Cromville Hot Spring and Lake Luma, opens only at Flame Level 10.
- A Mill. It unlocks when you pick up an Improved Millstone, is crafted at the Alchemist, and must be placed under a roof.
- A force generator next to the Mill. Windmill sails and water wheels partly beneath the surface both qualify. The Sparkling Dust recipe requires 250 Force.
- Your first Diamond. Picking one up teaches the Sparkling Dust recipe.
Where to find the Sparkling Dust ingredients
Bring a high-tier pickaxe. Diamond and Celestium Ore are both mined, and pickaxes deal more damage at higher tiers in 1.0. A Gilded Pickaxe handles both deposits. Once you’re through the Ancient Gate, place a Flame Altar nearby so the return trips are short.

Diamond
Diamond only comes from the Shroud inside Cinder’s Cradle. Look for walls with a glittering, shimmering surface and break them with your pickaxe. The area around Proto Vessel Bay and the nearby cave entrances has these walls. Mining them also drops Basalt and Cinder’s Cradle Dirt, so expect your backpack to fill up.

Your first Diamond pickup also teaches the Diamond Dust recipe, and through it the Sparkling Dust recipe.
Moonstone
Moonstone drops from the large mechanical constructs that guard Ancient structures in Cinder’s Cradle. Destroying one also gives Archaic Shards and Gold Ore, both of which you’ll want for other endgame recipes. If you’d rather farm a fixed spot, the research laboratory at the end of the Albaneve Summits dungeon, where the spider boss lives, has walls marked with circular lights. Breaking those walls gives Moonstone.

Celestium Ore
Open your map in Cinder’s Cradle and look for the mine icon just northeast of the Ancient Gate Flame Altar. The dark ore deposits there are Celestium Ore. A second cluster sits in the underground area beneath the Cinder’s Cradle Sky Islands, a little east of the Ancient Ruins. Find the large lava lake, then turn right from the entrance. The “Gathering Celestium” quest also rewards Celestium Ore.

Celestium Ore also smelts into Celestium Bars at the Blast Furnace, which eats into your supply. Since each Sparkling Dust needs two ore, mine more than you think you need.
Mother-Of-Pearl
Mother-Of-Pearl is the only ingredient that isn’t from Cinder’s Cradle. You can gather it from shells underwater in Veilwater Basin. You can also grind it at the same Mill. Picking up a Pearl unlocks a Mill recipe that makes 5 Mother-Of-Pearl per craft in 1 minute, which is the quicker route if you already have Pearls stored.

How to craft Sparkling Dust at the Mill

You’ll know it worked when the queue shows Sparkling Dust counting down. After 3 minutes the dust is ready to collect from the Mill, and it shows up in your backpack under Materials. Picking it up for the first time also unlocks the recipes that use it.
Sparkling Dust ingredient reference
All five items are Common rarity and stack to 250. Mother-Of-Pearl is the only one below level 45.
| Item | Item level | How you get one | Recipe |
|---|---|---|---|
| 45 | Mill | 1 per craft, 3 min | |
| 45 | Cinder’s Cradle Shroud | Mined only | |
| 45 | Cinder’s Cradle | Looted or mined | |
| 45 | Cinder’s Cradle | Mined or quest reward | |
| 40 | Veilwater Basin, underwater | 5 per craft, 1 min (Mill) |
Diamond and Moonstone have Mill recipes of their own too. Diamond Dust and Moonstone Dust each take 3 minutes per unit and unlock when you pick up the raw material. Don’t grind your only Diamond or Moonstone into those by mistake if Sparkling Dust is what you’re after.
Eternal spells unlocked by Sparkling Dust
Sparkling Dust goes into 44 recipes. Picking it up directly teaches two Mage spells, both crafted at the Alchemist under a roof. As Eternal spells, they use mana instead of spell charges and are cast with a staff.
| Spell | Rarity | Mana cost | Key stats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Legendary | 231 | 291 Fire, radius 620, 2.5 s charge | |
| Rare | 300 | 1500 shield health, 60 s, 4 s charge |
Eternal Fireball III fires a projectile that explodes on impact and hits everything in the blast area. It comes with -5% mana cost, -10% charge time, 10% All Magic Fire Damage and 5% Magical Critical Strike Chance.
Eternal Protective Barrier puts up a shield that soaks incoming projectiles until its health runs out. Anyone standing inside also gets 25% more Physical Resistance. Its perks cut mana cost and charge time by 10% each.
