Rochelle Anders, the Blacksmith’s assistant, waits inside the ruins of a shed at Fanning Ranch, a farm in the Nomad Highlands. She is the daughter of the Blacksmith, Oswald Anders, and reaching her is tied to a quest he hands over once you have done earlier work for him.
Quick answer: Complete “The Blacksmith’s Request”, then follow the quest “The Blacksmith’s Family” to Fanning Ranch in the Nomad Highlands and search the ruined shed until her soul appears.
Unlock the quest “The Blacksmith’s Family”
Before you can go looking for Rochelle, you need to finish “The Blacksmith’s Request”, the quest where you retrieve the Blacksmith’s shipment from Umber Hollow. Once that shipment is back in his hands, the Blacksmith works out that the sender was his estranged daughter and asks you to go find her.
That request becomes the quest “The Blacksmith’s Family”. Its first objective, “Reach Rochelle’s Supposed Location,” reads:
The Blacksmith asked you to search for his daughter. She’d be great as a blacksmith assistant! After you helped to retrieve a shipment for the Blacksmith from Umber Hollow, it’s clear that the sender could’ve only been one person — Oswald Anders’s estranged daughter. The parcel traveled through the Nomad Highlands back then, so the sender must’ve been from around or beyond there. Investigate the area marked on your map to find the Blacksmith’s daughter!
Find and rescue Rochelle at Fanning Ranch
You’ve arrived at the last known location of Rochelle: A farm. Something about it feels off, though. One shed in particular seems to be in ruins. Search the ruins on the farm grounds for Rochelle!
After the soul is discovered, you can summon Rochelle inside your base using a Summoning Staff.
What Rochelle Anders does at your base
As Oswald Anders’s daughter, Rochelle Anders serves as the Blacksmith’s assistant. Her available crafting options match the Blacksmith’s list, meaning you can have another smith at your base by bringing her back.
The other crafting assistants: Aunt Braelyn (Carpenter), Lady Leclair (Alchemist), Chester Loft (Bard), Galen Yager (Hunter), Fenrig Mills, Jr. (Farmer).
